Ventilation unit: characteristics, application, advantages

Block ventilation - reinforced concrete construction, which is widely used in the construction of residential and public buildings. With the installation of ventilation units, it becomes possible to organize simple and effective ventilation of kitchens, bathrooms, and other premises for household purposes.

Characteristics

Individual ventilation units differ both in physical characteristics and in dimensions. The necessary parameters of the ventilation units in each specific case are determined by their purpose.

The standard height of individual types of material can vary from 2500 to 3500 mm. The strength parameters of the ventilation units depend on the materials used in their production.

Materials and methods of production

At present, ventilation units of several basic types are produced: concrete, reinforced concrete, expanded clay concrete. These types of materials differ in the following qualities and manufacturing methods:

  1. Concrete products are produced by vibration pressing from concrete mixtures, where sand is used as the main component. As a result of the addition of a number of special additives, such blocks acquire increased strength.
  2. The reinforced concrete ventilation units are manufactured by pouring metal reinforcement with a heavy concrete mix. Inside such products, there are several auxiliary and one main exhaust duct.
  3. The main difference between claydite-concrete blocks and products of the previous types is the use of a lightweight concrete base with claydite content. Due to the high level of mechanical stability and universal characteristics, such units are realized not only when creating natural ventilation in the walls of buildings, but also as barriers for communication wires.

Application Features

The ventilation unit can be used to perform a variety of tasks in construction and repair. This is facilitated by the availability of different types of material, which differ in size, shape, and strength.

There are quite convenient ventilation units prefabricated, specially designed for installation in premises of a specific purpose. For example, several modifications of prefabricated ventilation units can be used to equip a warmed or unheated attic space. The choice of such materials in each specific case depends on the existing tasks and working conditions.

For the construction of buildings in seismically active regions, it is advisable to use a ventilation unit with a structure reinforced with reliable fittings and other reinforcing elements. This allows the use of ventilation units in buildings, the number of which does not exceed the indicator of 25 floors.

If it is necessary to provide natural ventilation during the construction of a private house designed according to the original, non-standard plan, in that case it is quite possible to produce specific ventilation units with special parameters to order.

Marking

To simplify the choice of ventilation units, products with different characteristics are assigned their own, special marking. The ventoblocks are labeled according to simplified schemes.

The designation "WB" in the product name indicates a rounded figure of the height of the floor in decimeters. To understand the features of this marking, you can use the following example:

  1. VB-40 is a block that is intended for arrangement of ventilation in a building where the height of the floor is about 40 dm.
  2. VB-30 - ventblok, which provides for use in a room with a floor height of not more than 30 dm.

Digital indexes in the marking of various types of ventilation units are added when additional insertion elements are needed, which is intended to create support for overlapping.

The presence of special marking on the ventilation units can inform both the dimensions of the products and their narrow purpose. In some cases, this is added to the marking, which indicates the type of concrete that was used in production, the durability of materials of manufacture to natural influences and aggressive environments.

Material Advantages

Regardless of the type and method of use, the ventilation unit has the following advantages:

  • The ability to quickly organize natural ventilation ;
  • Increased level of strength and reliability of the structure;
  • Resistance to environmental and mechanical damage;
  • Presence of refractory and frost-resistant qualities;
  • Protection from the development of processes of decay, the formation of fungi, mold.
