Vargashinsky plant of fire-fighting and special equipment. Production and repair of fire fighting equipment

Vargashinsky plant of fire-fighting and special equipment (VZPPSO) is one of the pioneers of the production of fire engines in the USSR. It is based on the capacities of the Novotorzhsky plant, evacuated in 1941 to the Kurgan region. In different years the share of the enterprise's products reached 30% of the fire-fighting equipment manufactured in the country.

Description

In Russia there are more than a dozen factories of machine-building that produce fire fighting equipment. The enterprise in the Vargas is among them not the last. In the 2000s, the share of VZPPSO in this segment of the market was 30-35%. The global recession, which followed after 2008, led to a drop in demand and a gradual decline in production. Nevertheless, thanks to the modern technological line, the Vargashinsky plant is able to produce highly functional samples of fire engines.

Among the customers of the plant:

  • Organizations of the Ministries of Defense, Internal Affairs, Natural Resources, Emergencies Ministry, law enforcement agencies, security services.
  • Rosenergoatom Concern.
  • Production of machine building, metallurgy, forestry.
  • Enterprises of oil and gas sector.
  • Airports of Samara, Kirov, Penza, Orenburg, Yakutsk, Krasnoyarsk and other cities.

Historical reference

Serial production of fire trucks in our country began after the development of the production of the first Soviet trucks at the Moscow plant AMO (later renamed ZIL). Since the 1920s, some engineering plants have been reoriented to the assembly of fire fighting equipment. In 1925, at the Miusskoye factory, the production of fire rulers on the chassis AMO-F-15 began. Since 1926 such a technique was manufactured by the Leningrad enterprise Promet.

In 1939, the production of the PMG-1 fire trucks on the basis of the GAZ-AA car began at the Novotorzhsky plant. The enterprise did not manage to gain momentum, as it had to be evacuated urgently in the Urals in 1941 - in the village of Vargashi in the Kurgan region. Since the beginning of the war, fire trucks were not manufactured, the factories were reoriented to produce defense products. In particular, in Vargash they produced the necessary hulls for air bombs. Workers did their best to bring victory closer. Instead of planned 150 products for the change produced about 200 pieces.

Instead of bombs - fire trucks

With the improvement of the situation on the fronts, many enterprises were returning to the release of peaceful products. Especially acute was the lack of specialized equipment to extinguish fires. In 1944, the Vargashinsky plant of fire-fighting and special equipment, created on the basis of the evacuated shops of the Novotorzhsky plant, started the production of PMZ-7 tank trucks on the ZIS-5V chassis with the PN-1200 pump in front, a gas-jet vacuum device and a 60-liter foam tank.

In 1947, the enterprise switched to the production of fire trucks PMZ-8 on the chassis of ZIS-5V, equipped with a closed two-berth cabin for combat crew. Since 1956, the Vargashinsky plant of special equipment has focused on the production of fire trucks on the chassis of UAZ and GAZ. In 1966, the production of tankers AC-30 (53) of model 106 began here on the GAZ-53 chassis. In 1981, VZPPSO mastered the manufacture of fire fighting tank-vehicles АЦ-30 (66) of model 184 on the GAZ-66 chassis.

Wide opportunities

In urban conditions, firefighters of the light and middle class proved to be the best ones. Their characteristics are determined by the size (respectively - capacity) of water tanks or foam. Their task is to get to the center of the fire as quickly as possible and quickly proceed to fire fighting until heavy trucks arrive or fire hoses are connected to hydrants. In this class, the Vargashinsky plant of fire-fighting and special equipment produces tanks with a capacity of 1 to 4 m 3 .

Recently, the VZPPSO paid attention to heavy tankers, capable of transporting 5-8 m 3 of water. However, in the fire units this class of equipment was not widely spread. The bulky machine has a low speed (due to the possibility of a hydraulic shock), maneuvering with difficulty in narrow courtyards and city lanes. In addition, they are expensive. Heavy tankers are used as object fire trucks designed to extinguish fires at airfields, industrial plants, warehouses, power plants and other facilities. The factory produces tanks with a volume of 5.7 and 8 m 3 .

Specifications

The Vargashinsky plant, which previously specialized in the production of tank trucks exclusively on the chassis of UAZ and GAZ, is currently producing a wide range of fire trucks. Cars FGUP VZPPSO differ quality of the special equipment. The plant mastered the production of 1-stage fire pumps NPC-40/100 models 68 and 236, curtain doors, fire stairs, crowbars, keys and hooks.

Cabins for special vehicles are made of double-row, four-door (on the model 4AVR - single-row, two-door), welded, thermo noise. On models ЗВР and 8ВР the double-row cabin of manufacture ZIL is equipped by an additional heater for heating of the second row. On the machines of 4VR, 11VR and 25VR series two-row cabins of own production with the use of sections of GAZ and Ural cabins, which are all-metal panel type construction, rigidly connected to the driver's cab. On tank trucks on the KamAZ chassis, the combat crew's cockpit separate from the driver's cab is hingedly mounted on the car's frame in front of the fire superstructure.

An important element is the fire pump. The main one is a centrifugal 1-stage pump NPC-40/100 cantilever type with a nominal fluid supply of 40 l / s, a head of 100 m.

On request can be installed:

  • Pump FP 2500 with a feed rate of 40 l / s;
  • A CM-15V rocket bar with electric joystick control from the cab;
  • Retractable lighting mast with pneumatic drive;
  • Rubber gate valves of the Butterfly system from Sides (France) and other additional equipment.

Fire fighting equipment

VZPPSO regularly learns new and improves the old lineup of special equipment. The plant's products include:

  • Tank trucks firemen of all classes, based on the chassis "Ural", "Iveco", GAZ, KamAZ, ZIL.
  • Various types of cars: high-altitude, pump-hose, staff, airfield, SPEKL, for powder extinguishing, smoke removal, first aid, warning and communication, maintaining law and order.
  • Forestry machines.
  • Pumping fire stations.
  • Autohydraulic hoists.

Also, the Vargashinsky plant of fire-fighting and special equipment repairs fire pumps, cisterns, water-foam communications, transmissions, cabins and fire superstructures. Also here will help to apply a galvanic coating, repaint the body.

Prospects

After the suspension of production, the VZPPSO was on the verge of bankruptcy. In the summer of 2016, 100% of the shares were purchased by businessman Vladimir Voronyansky and repaid most of the debts. In the autumn the company started to fulfill the order for 18 special vehicles. Several heavy tankers of heavy class for airports were purchased by Kazakhstan. Great hopes are placed on the state contract for fire equipment, designed to serve the world football championship in 2018.

Today, about 350 people work at the Vargashinsky plant. From the work of the enterprise depends the well-being of the inhabitants of the urban settlement of Vargashi.
