Rechitsa Metalware Plant, Belarus

OAO Rechitsa Hardware Plant is the largest enterprise in Belarus for the production of fasteners. Here produce over a thousand names of products for various purposes. Since 2006 the plant is a structural subdivision of the holding "Belarusian Metallurgical Company".

Historical reference

RMZ was founded by the brothers Rikk in 1911. Originally it was a small workshop for the production of wire and nails, but in a year the enterprise expanded threefold. In a day, three dozen workers produced more than 30 poods of nails.

After the revolution, the plant was nationalized, but the production profile remained unchanged. In the Soviet era Rechitsa metalware factory was considered a "prosperous" enterprise with a stable sales market. But after the collapse of the USSR, output actually stopped. Only after the arrival in 1999 of the talented leader of Adam Vashkov RMZ got a second wind.

Product Quality

The Rechitsa Metalware Plant produces high-quality products. They are bought with pleasure in Belarus, Russia, near and far abroad. At the enterprise in 2000 a quality management system was introduced, corresponding to generally accepted international standards. It covers both production and sales. Among the whole range of products over 90% certified. First of all, it concerns the most popular positions: nails, fasteners, wires and others.

Rechitsa Metalware Plant has repeatedly won in the industry contests "Best Goods of Belarus", "Best Goods in the Russian Market". Twice the enterprise was awarded with the Government of the Republic of Belarus prize for the production of competitive products and the introduction of innovative quality management methods. RMZ was rewarded three times with the award of the Ministry of Industry of the Republic of Belarus.

Products of the plant were also liked by foreign partners. In 2011, RMZ entered the final of the tournament "Big Enterprises", which evaluated the production of Eastern and Central Europe. In the same year he became a member of the European Club of Quality Leaders.

Export

Rechitsa hardware plant feels confident in the world market of fasteners. The projected level of exports is 50,000 tons per year. The share of products shipped abroad varies within 85-90% of the total volume of industrial production.

The plant controls almost half of the market for hardware products in the Czech Republic, France - 20%, Germany - 18%, Italy - 12%. The demand for products allows confidently maintain a positive trade balance. In 2011, RMZ was recognized as the best exporter of Belarus. For the current decade, the enterprise has increased the output of metal products by 10 times.

Investments and innovations

The Rechitsa Metalware Plant regularly introduces innovative technologies. Five years ago the Hot-dip galvanizing shop was opened. In it, large-scale steel structures and pipes are applied super-resistant layer of anti-corrosion coating. Protection allows products to last 100 years without rust.

Today, the task of replacing the old equipment in the workshop of fasteners is being decided. More productive and less power-consuming machines and units are installed. They allow us to save significant funds and start producing new types of products. Reorganization and re-equipment are waiting for nail production. The production of nails will reach 4000 tons per month.

The project of modernization of galvanic production assumes the building up of capacities for galvanizing fasteners by electrolytic method. Plant workers hope to produce about 800 tons of corrosion-resistant metalware per month.

RMZ seeks to minimize the import component in the production process, which is already low - about 7%. In particular, instead of tare from the Czech Republic, the purchase of a package of Belarusian production was started.

Taking into account that domestic needs of the republic cover not more than 10-15% of manufactured hardware, the enterprise is looking for opportunities to expand the geography of supplies. RMZ products are purchased in Germany, Benelux countries, France, Italy, Moldova, Austria, Czech Republic, Poland and other countries. A significant volume of sales falls on the partners of the EEA - Russia and Kazakhstan. At the moment, Rechitsa Metalware is the largest profile plant in Europe.
