UTAS UTS-15. Shotgun UTAS UTS-15. Smoothbore rifles

Despite the fact that today smooth-bore rifles are practically not used in the armament of the army - they were replaced by weapons with a rifled barrel - they still enjoy a certain demand. They are used for hunting, as well as in police and special military units. Shotguns in themselves have a low range of damage, but the use of various accessories allows one weapon to solve many different tasks. Utas UTS 15 is designed and built in Turkey, and is a good analogue of the rifles of famous world brands.

What are smoothbore pump guns

The gun is a pomp and smoothbore gun. Those who are accustomed to dealing with rifled types of weapons, consider them to be something of a toy. However, in reality it is not so. Turkish smooth-bore weapon Utas is positioned as a 12-caliber assault rifle. It is suitable for use by civilians (for example, for self-defense), and for some military purposes.

For recharging, a sliding front handle is used, which allows not to remove the hand to install a new charge. The forehead on it works by the type of a pump, moves the bolt group, simultaneously throws the shot cartridge and sends the cartridge.

History of the appearance of Utas UTS 15

The country is not only a famous resort, but also a producer of goods worthy of competing with world brands. Modern small arms produced by Turkey can compete with American, German or Russian for quality and price. Therefore, there is nothing surprising in the production of a pump shotgun. Although initially it was only to be produced in the Turkish factory.

The idea of creating such a shotgun has long been in the hands of designers. It began to be implemented in 2006 by Smith & Wesson. Before that, the smoothbore guns were too large due to the layout and could not be used for specific purposes. The basis was taken by an African gun Neostead. The company acquired a patent for the use of certain parts of these weapons. All elements have been studied by designers and reworked.

However, great weight negated all the efforts of the creators. As a result, the Turks joined the work - they repeatedly carried out the company's orders. After they were able to achieve weight loss, all the other developments were sold to him by Smith & Wesson. So the shotgun Utas UTS 15 became Turkish.

Device and mechanism of operation

So, the gun is a pump. Utas UTS 15 has a boul-pop layout, the trunk is locked by three bolt turns. The window for the ejection of fired shells is located on the designer's idea on the right. It has a dust cover that automatically opens if necessary. The design of the gun is well thought out, therefore it is possible to send in any position of the weapon in space. The hand fuse is located on the left.

Directly the body of the gun is made of high-strength plastic, which for reinforcement was reinforced with carbon fiber. To the barrel of the shotgun, replaceable chokes are provided, the channel of the trunk is chrome plated. To mount various sighting devices in the upper part of the body is the Picatinni integral guide. A lantern, a flashlight or a laser sight can be attached to the guide rail .

The Utas UTS 15 Desert is designed for use mainly in sandy desert regions. It has a special coating, resistant to the mechanical effects of the environment of the territories and digital camouflage pattern.

Modern small-arms weapon Utas in the Navy modification was initially positioned as a "stormtrooper" for the navy. Its distinctive feature is the glare-free camouflage of the color of dark water. The springs have a special anti-corrosion coating, and nickel is applied to all exposed parts for resistance to the effects of sea water.

Modification of the Marine shotgun Marine is intended for the Marine Corps. Special coating of parts and moving mechanisms protects from the influence of dirt. The surface of the gun is rough for a more comfortable hold.

There are no changes or additions to the "filling" in any of the modifications. The difference is only in additional coatings and colors.

Expert opinions

To date, the opinions of weapons experts are divided. In the opinion of some, the gun is uncomfortable, too large for fighting in urban conditions. At the same time, special emphasis is placed on the fact that it is impossible to correctly and quickly charge, so the probability of a gun failure increases. On the other hand, to eliminate this problem, it is sufficient to remove at least the top cover, for the duration of the battle. Other experts believe that the shotgun is just perfect for use in a city or confined spaces. Therefore, to buy or not to buy - it is necessary to decide based on your own opinion.

In general, as a short-barrel rifle for melee is really suitable Utas UTS 15. The price is quite acceptable - depending on the modification is about 400-500 dollars. True, there is a small, and not very pleasant moment - the outer metal parts are made of not very good quality steel. By the way, this is the main reason why Utas UTS 15 did not accept the army. From all this we can conclude that the idea was simply excellent, but its implementation so far leaves much to be desired.
