Linoleum is heterogeneous: description, characteristics, thickness, types and reviews

Linoleum semi-commercial heterogeneous has long acquired the prevalence as a floor covering for premises with medium load and patency. High technical properties provided an extensive field of application of the material, which belongs to the category of high-quality and durable coatings.

Features

In accordance with GOST, the material is based on a special fiberglass, covered with PVC impregnation. Due to this, it is possible to apply a protective layer and a topcoat with various patterns.

Linoleum commercial heterogeneous "Tarkett" differs from other types of methods of special application of additional PVC elements. Thus, the surface acquires an original appearance and a relief structure.

Surface protective coating consists of three parts, the total thickness of it is regulated by the approved requirements of GOST and is in the range of 0.2-0.5 mm. It provides a linoleum with average characteristics of softness and flexibility, as well as installation on a relatively leveled base.

The distinctive features of the material are expressed first of all in a more complex structure. The operational initial characteristics remain the same for 10 years. The total weight is primarily affected by the standard thickness: a square meter of coating weighs about 2.5 kg. The internal structure is similar to the standard household option.

The difference between heterogeneous and homogeneous material

When comparing a homogeneous and heterogeneous base, the main difference between the latter is the manufacturing technique and the width of the web. The difference of other characteristics is less noticeable. It should be noted that the main advantage lies in the multilayeredness, which is represented by the following layers:

  • The top coating prevents abrasion and damage to the applied image, its thickness is on average 5 mm;
  • The middle layer is decorative, in particular, provides structural characteristics due to the addition of special components;
  • As the bottom layer is the base of foamed PVC, it is used to increase noise and thermal insulation.

Advantages

Linoleum commercial heterogeneous, the price for which starts from 400 rubles per square meter, is characterized by simplicity of installation and unpretentiousness in the subsequent care. High frame properties are provided by the use of glass fiber as a lower layer. The thickness of the existing substrate affects the noise-insulating properties, which are within 12-16 dB. In addition, the material is resistant to damage and the influence of chemical active substances.

Qualitative linoleum sports heterogeneous has the following advantages:

  • High degree of sound insulation and heat preservation;
  • Presence of antibacterial components in the composition;
  • Resistance to mechanical damage of various kinds;
  • Moisture resistance;
  • The color intensity for a long time remains at the same level.

Where is it used?

Linoleum heterogeneous has become actively used as a floor covering in hotels, shopping centers, children's institutions, massage parlors, insurance and bank branches, office premises. The prevalence is caused by the presence of many positive characteristics, first of all buyers note simple care, lightness of material, resistance to wear, and also a long period of operation. In addition, the structure remains the same even under the influence of significant loads.

Linoleum heterogeneous is also used in residential buildings, it is especially popular with the arrangement of the corridor and kitchen area, but the greatest demand is noted in the office premises.

Selection

Currently, due to the presence of a large sales market, a large amount of material is produced, represented by a variety of different companies. On the Russian construction market there are mainly Polish, Belgian, Slovenian and domestic manufacturers, which specialize in the production of high-quality semi-commercial coating.

It is desirable to purchase a linoleum that is heterogeneous, having a protective layer with a thickness of at least 5 mm. Due to this characteristic, it is possible to obtain a high-quality floor covering with a long service life. In some cases, in addition to a long service life, the creation of a warm surface with high sound-insulating properties comes to the fore. For this, a coating with a lower dense and thick layer is suitable.

When choosing the right option, you need to pay special attention to the characteristics of all layers, but primarily the upper one. From its quality depends resistance to fading, exposure to ultraviolet rays and furniture legs.

It is worth noting the existence of linoleum with moisture-resistant characteristics and the presence of antibacterial additives, which can also be used to create a system of warm floor.

What do I need to know?

Any material, regardless of its quality and cost, requires strict observance of the rules of storage and transportation to prevent damage and deformation. Heterogeneous commercial linoleum, the thickness of which is in the range of 2.5-4 mm, is stacked using glue and does not require special tools and special knowledge. Careful preparation work must be carried out. For a quality installation, the substrate must have a perfectly flat surface. When laying on a tile or parquet, the floor must first be leveled with the use of planking DSP-sheets.

Installation

Before starting work, the material should lie in the room in which the repairs will be carried out within 24 hours. Then it is placed on the entire surface, which requires a coating, but do not forget about the need for wall and joint junctions of 5 and 2 cm, respectively. After smoothing the surface of the linoleum, it is cut at a certain angle between the floor and the wall.

To apply a special adhesive composition, the cloth is turned over, a spatula with medium teeth is used to distribute the mass. The glue should be applied carefully, with semicircular movements. For evaporation of excess moisture, no less than half an hour is allowed. Then you can proceed to gluing the canvas.

It is necessary to pay special attention to the choice of the adhesive composition, which must be made especially for linoleum of heterogeneous semi-commercial type. If this rule is not observed, the coating may simply not adhere to the base. It should be noted that for the compositions used, there are also established GOSTs. Matching them allows you not to doubt the quality of the material. Experts strongly do not recommend the use of glue of universal type, as even for ordinary household linoleum special composition is used. To increase the density of the bonding of the floor and the canvas, the material is rolled from above with rolls, the mass of which is 60 kg.

It should be noted that the installation is not limited to gluing the coating to the base. The surface will look smooth and beautiful only after the joints are joined. This process is carried out a day after the laying works, the most common was a hot technique, which is the welding of seams using a special cord or hair dryer.

Reviews

Linoleum heterogeneous Graboplast Estate Line, according to consumers, has a dense structural surface, pleasant to the touch. It is easily cut and marked on the inside.

The material of the Tarkett Force Canasta collection is presented with a coating with various designs and textural designs, this is its main advantage, according to people who used this linoleum as a floor covering in their home.

Linoleum Tarkett Travertine PRO has gained popularity due to its appearance, which is similar to laminate. But many buyers complain of a sharp chemical smell, which does not erode even after a few days.
