"Travokort": analogues, reviews, instructions for use

Do you know what can replace such a drug as "Travocort"? An analog of this tool will be presented below. We will also tell you how to use the cream and its substitutes, what features they have, what is included in the composition, etc.

The composition of "Travocort"

The analogue of the "Travocort" ointment can have a completely different composition. But, despite this, it is allowed to use it as a full-fledged substitute.

The preparation we are considering contains active ingredients such as isoconazole nitrate and diflucortolone valerate. In addition, the composition of the cream includes auxiliary elements in the form of sorbitan stearate, white petrolatum, liquid paraffin, disodium edetate, polysorbate, water, cetyl and stearyl alcohol.

Principle of operation and indication

How does the "Travocort" medication work? The analog of this agent usually has the same pharmacological characteristics.

The cream in question is a combined agent. Isoconazole nitrate is a synthetic derivative of imidazole. This substance reduces the intensity of ergosterol synthesis by changing the qualitative composition of the membrane of the microbial cell and destroying the harmful agent.

Due to this effect, the ointment shows a pronounced fungistatic activity. It is very effective against staphylococci, yeast and yeast-like fungi, dermatophytes, mold fungi, streptococci and micrococci.

As for valerate diflucortolone, it is a glucocorticosteroid. This substance is capable of exerting an antiexudative effect. It removes signs of an allergic reaction, inflammation and itching.

Analogue cream "Travokort" and the drug itself is prescribed when:

  • Fungal skin lesions;
  • Secondary infection (with pronounced inflammatory or eczematic-like symptoms);
  • Balanoposthite;
  • Treatment of mycosis of feet and skin;
  • Candidiasis;
  • Treatment of epidermophytosis, microsporia, trichophytosis and rubrofitia;
  • Treatment of erythrasma.

Cream "Travogen"

What can I replace the "Travocort" ointment? Its analogue in the form of a cream called "Travogen" is the most popular in patients. The composition of this drug includes substances such as isoconazole nitrate, sorbitan stearate, polysorbate, liquid paraffin, petrolatum, cetyl stearyl alcohol and purified water.

Properties of "Travogen" and indications for use

Now you know what the "Travocort" ointment is. The analogue ("Travogen") has the same properties. It acts as a fungistatic drug, that is, it partially holds up, and also stops the growth of fungi. With increased concentration, the drug is able to exert a fungicidal action, that is, completely suppress the growth and viability of fungi.

Cream "Travogen" is active against mold, yeast and yeast-like fungi, as well as dermatophytes, staphylococci, the causative agent of erythrasma and streptococci.

Indications for the use of this tool are:

  • Fungal lesions of the skin;
  • Secondary infected lesions (rubrophytic, microspores, fungal infections, trichophytosis, candidamycosis, pityriasis and epidermophytia).

Preparations "Travogen" and "Travocort": instructions for use

Analogues of an antifungal agent are applied in exactly the same way as the original drug.

Ointments and creams are for external application only. Avoid contact with open wounds, as well as mucous membranes. The medication is applied to the affected skin with a thin layer twice or thrice a day.

Duration of treatment with such means is significantly different. The "Travocort" ointment should not be used for more than five days in a row because of the possible atrophy of the skin. As for such an analog as "Travogen", it can be used for a whole month. If necessary, the course of treatment is prolonged.

Ointment "Candiderm"

"Travogen" and "Travocort" preparations, analogues of which are presented in this article, are far from being the only antifungal agents for external use.

Ointment "Candiderm" is also a medicine that effectively fights against skin lesions such as:

The virgin substances of Kandiderm ointment are the following:

  • Gentamicin is an antibiotic that has a bactericidal effect, inhibits the activity of Klebsiella, Proteus, Staphylococcus, Enterobacteria, Escherichia, Pseudomonas and Streptococcus.
  • Clotrimazole has an antifungal effect. It interferes with the synthesis of ergosterol, that is, the main part of the fungal cell.

Cream Clothrimazole

This is due to the fact that the listed drugs can have completely different contraindications, side effects, dosages and duration of application.

Reviews

What do they say about the drug "Travocort"? Analogues, reviews of which are ambiguous, act in much the same way as the medication itself.
