Bone flour
Bone meal is a product of processing the bones of poultry and animals. It is widely used as a fertilizer for plants in the open ground. The effect of this fertilizer is rather slow. However, its advantage is that bone meal consists of organic and mineral substances and is a natural fertilizer. It is very popular in organic gardening.
Bone meal is also used as a lure for pets. Use it as an admixture to mixed fodders intended for cattle. Also, the owners of pets, in particular dogs, often introduce their product into the diet of their pets. In particular, bone meal is useful for puppies for proper formation of the musculoskeletal system. For the cat's diet, fish bone meal will be more suitable. It is recommended for adult cats to 1 g per day, kittens - 2 g per day. Veterinarians often advise bone meal for preventive purposes, without fear of unforeseen reactions, as this product has no contraindications for use in animals.
Meat and bone meal production
Meat-and-bone meal is a raw material of animal origin, used in the production of mixed fodders. With high quality flour (1-2 grades) mixed feed has the full necessary balance of amino acids. Also, meat-and-bone meal contains such essential nutrients in animals as calcium, phosphorus, sodium. It is a source of riboflavin, nicotinic acid, vitamin B1, cobalamin, choline. Adding meat-and-bone meal to the daily diet of animals will significantly reduce the cost of feed, increase productivity, increase the nutritional value of the feed itself.
For the production of meat and bone meal, the line K7-FKE is used, its productivity is 600 kg of flour per shift. The process itself includes processing (preliminary degreasing, sterilization), drying, grinding raw materials, packaging and weighing the finished product, as well as its subsequent labeling. During the preparation of the product, during the processing of raw materials, some water, fat is lost. To minimize losses in dry finished material, hot fat is used as the hydrophobic heat carrier during production. This helps to get rid of excessive moisture and disinfect non-food raw materials.
An interesting fact is that some European countries use bone meal as a fuel for burning debris and generating energy. Today, in the production of expanded clay, the use of organic flour is very popular, since the consumption of the main fuel as well as the unwanted emissions of CO2 are reduced in the process.
Almost all the production of bone meal is concentrated in large meat processing plants. First of all, this contributes to non-waste production, which from the economic point of view is very beneficial. Also, the location of the shops in one area allows you to save on the transportation of raw materials.
The raw materials for the production of meat and bone meal are wastes from the manufacture of technical and food products, the bodies of poultry and livestock that have been admitted by the sanitary service, confiscations of veterinary services.
As for the production of fish bone meal, unlike the meat-bone meal, there are also quite suitable for consumption carcass fish. Such flour is produced mainly abroad in fish factories, in farms or in ship-factories. In production, fish such as sardines, herring, menhaden and anchovies are used. The process of making this flour is much easier. Fish products are first boiled, then pressed, after drying, they are ground. Fish-oil flour is used for supplementing fry, and as a feed for ornamental fish.
