For many years now, cutting out snowflakes for the New Year and decorating their rooms is a favorite activity for adults and children. A special stunning effect is produced by original snowflakes. Schemes are even for specimens in the form of animals of the Eastern calendar.

Snowflakes are cut from medium-density colored or white paper. From a thin napkin they turn out to be too fragile, and from a thick sheet of paper - too massive. Sizes can be any. In order to make snowflakes, the schemes of which are quite simple, you need a colored tissue paper or less dense office, two scissors (manicure and with long blades), a pencil, ruler and a good mood.

A square piece of paper is taken for the snowflake. It folds in half, then again in the same way, then along the diagonal to the desired number of petals. The folding sites remain partially intact. After cutting and unfolding the workpiece, you get a New Year's craft. Small figured incisions are best performed with manicure scissors, and larger ones are usual.

Quilling technique

There is one more original way to create snowflakes - handmade "quilling" technique. Thanks to her beautiful snowflakes from paper, the schemes of which can be invented in the course of work, are obtained by volume.

To work, you need to cut paper strips 4-5 mm wide, from which spirals are created. Paper strip tightly wound on the spoke (wooden brush, stick, toothpick). The tip is glued (further workpieces are required and with an edge that is not glued). The washer is removed from the shaft. If the workpiece is released, a ring with a spiral will exit. From such elements you can make various curls, horns, hearts, twigs. From the closed blanks by bending corners in different places, you can create a rhombus, eye, square, drop, arrow, triangle and crescent.

Next is just the assembly of the finished snowflake. Schemes of "quilling" patterns are created from six rows, in each of which six parts are placed. During assembly, all the curly elements are glued together. Such unusual snowflakes will be appreciated not only by friends and children, but also by colleagues.
