The "Severyanin" platform is a convenient and fast way to get to the "Golden Babylon" shopping center

The "Severyanin" platform has been popular for several years in a row both among Moscow residents and visitors of the capital. The thing is that the biggest shopping center in the whole of Europe (within the city) - "Golden Babylon" - opens its doors every day across the road from everyone.

Instead of Metro

This is only since September 2016, as part of the launch of the Moscow Central Ring (MCC), the metro station Rostokino was opened in the capital in the immediate vicinity of the shopping center. And before that the only high-speed transport, which had a stopping point in the immediate vicinity of the shopping center, was the Yaroslavl direction of the Moscow Railway. The nearest metro stations: VDNKH, Botanichesky Sad and Sviblovo - are located two kilometers from the shopping center and further. And it's about half an hour walk along the semi-industrial territory, and even then with a brisk step and with good weather. You can, of course, get from the metro and the bus, but for the residents of the suburbs, especially for those who live in the north of the Moscow region, it is much more convenient to use electric commuter trains. For them the platform "Severyanin" is the most convenient access to the shopping center.

History

The stopping point of the Northern Railway earned in 1932. A few years before, it had just been possible to electrify a regular railway connection between the capital and the Moscow region of Mytishchi. In connection with the rapid growth of industrial enterprises, a sharp increase in passenger traffic prompted the leadership to equip the new stations.

The platform "Severyanin" received its name in honor of the suburban village "Krasny Severyanin". Prigorodnoye, because in those years Moscow had not yet left its borders beyond the Moscow district railway (where the MCC is now running). And although the residential part of the settlement was located slightly to the north, in the area of the Yenisei Street, it did not save it from the sad fate. The village was completely demolished at the end of the fifties, having arranged the sorting station "Moscow-commodity" in its place .

Quick and convenient

The Yaroslavl direction of the Moscow Railway takes its origin from the railway station of the same name, and to get to the Severyanin platform from there, the passenger will only take 14 minutes. During this time the electric train manages to pass seven kilometers and make 3 possible additional stops. Many agree that it is much faster and more convenient than standing in a traffic jam, getting to the shopping center "Golden Babylon" on a free bus. Yaroslavsky Railway Station itself is located practically in the center of the city, on the square of three railway stations in Moscow, not far from the metro station "Komsomolskaya". Despite the fact that the platform "Severyanin" is located in the second zone, the fare for Moscow is the same and is 32 rubles per ticket one way.

Location:

The stopping point consists of two island platforms and one side. In 2008, the station was partially reconstructed, equipped with access control turnstiles of the ASOKUPE system, and additional fences were also mounted on its borders, preventing unauthorized persons from entering the railway track and the station's development. The third platform, the eastern one, the reserve one, is used extremely rarely, only during the peak load of the line and at the pass or temporary sludge of freight trains. The pedestrian bridge connects all three platforms.

Sometimes it is rather difficult to find where the Severyanin platform is located , especially those who first arrived in this area. From prying eyes, it successfully hides the massive base of the motorway of the same name. From the other end, it is difficult to discern because of the intensive traffic on the interface of Yaroslavl highway with the passage of Serebryakov and Yeniseiskaya street. However, you can go to it safely and anywhere. On the one hand, the entrance to the Severyaninsky Bridge is crossed by an underground pedestrian crossing, and on the other - over the above-ground one.

Transplantations

The development of the capital's public transport does not stand still, which is what Moscow is famous for. The "Severyanin" platform was actively included in the passenger system of high-speed transport in September 2016, with the opening of the MSC "Rostokino" station. The transition between the stations takes about 5-7 minutes and runs along the street sidewalk.

Now we are building a "warm transition" between the stations, for which the platform is planned to be moved 250 meters to the south. Bus and trolleybus service both along the Yaroslavskoye highway and along the Yeniseiskaya street and along Serebryakova passage have the stop "Severyanin" on their way .The nearest metro they connect are stations "Botanichesky Sad", "Sviblovo" and "VDNKh" "And the bus of the 93rd route arrives right up to the metro station Medvedkovo. You can also transfer to the platform from the tram of the 17th route, which will deliver the passenger either to the VDNKh metro station or to the Babushkinskaya metro station.

Collision of trains

On April 19, 2003, near the station "Losinoostrovskaya", in the border of which is the "Severyanin" platform, a train collision occurred, as a result of which two people were killed and fourteen were injured. In a stationary economic train with a CRC crane, a carload of VMI carloaded a repair team to the site of electrical works.

Several factors contributed to the tragic catastrophe. The train driver, violating the dispatcher's instructions, drove out of the station, where the collision occurred. Moreover, in the trolley there were 21 workers, instead of 9 laid. The dispatcher violated the rules of the movement of shunting trains on the railway, and the duty officer at the station allowed the exit of the trolley without checking the train station and documents.
