The drug 'Rinikold': instructions for use, indications and contraindications

Let's start with the pills. It is a combined preparation consisting of four components: paracetamol, caffeine, phenylephrine hydrochloride, chlorphenamine maleate. Paracetamol acts as an antipyretic and analgesic. Under the action of phenylephrine, the vessels narrow and the discharge from the nose stops. Chlorphenamine eliminates allergy and swelling, suppresses the symptoms of an allergic rhinitis and helps to facilitate breathing. Caffeine acts on the central nervous system as a stimulant, reducing fatigue and drowsiness and increasing efficiency. Together, all these components ensure the effectiveness of the drug "Rinikold". Tablets provide an opportunity not only to get rid of the common cold, but also to rejuvenate the body.

A syrup is also a combined preparation. In addition to the already known phenylephrine and chlorphenamine, it includes guaifenesin and ambroxol. These components reduce the viscosity of excreta from the bronchi and facilitate cough expectoration.

Indication and method of application

The drug "Rinikold" instructions for use recommends the use of acute respiratory diseases, which are accompanied by a runny nose, headache, fever, pain in muscles and joints, chills. Syrup is recommended to use in cases when diseases are accompanied by a wet cough.

Syrup is forbidden for people suffering from diabetes, stomach ulcers and duodenal ulcers, with expressed atherosclerosis of the coronary arteries, thyrotoxicosis and prostate adenoma. With great care, the drug is recommended to be prescribed for such diseases as renal or hepatic insufficiency.

When taking the drug, side effects are possible. In the case of tablets - it's dizziness, headaches, increased excitability, problems with sleeping, a feeling of dry mouth and nausea. When taking syrup, tachycardia and high blood pressure, worsening of appetite, vomiting, constipation, diarrhea, increased intraocular pressure are also possible.
