"Cordiamin" instruction refers to the category of synthetic drugs. Drug is produced in the form of drops and solution for injection. The main goal of the drug is the stimulating effect in general of the nervous system and in particular the nerve endings.

The medication has the ability to stimulate the central nervous system, to excite the vasomotor (especially with reduced tone) and respiratory centers. Characterizing the "Cordyamine," the instruction does not indicate the direct vasoconstrictor and heart-stimulating action. Excessive (toxic) dosages of the drug can cause clonic convulsions.

For adults, the dosage (inside) is 15-40 drops per day no more than three times. For children, the number of drops for a single dose is equal to the number of years of the child.

Intramuscularly, subcutaneously or intravenously, the adult dosage is 1-2 ml one or three times a day, depending on the child's age, 0.1 to 0.75 ml is injected subcutaneously.

In some cases, "Cordiamin" instruction allows for use in poisoning with analgesics, sleeping pills or narcotic drugs. In such cases, the drug is administered subcutaneously, intravenously (slowly) or intramuscularly by an adult of 3-5 ml.

The adult maximum dosage of 60 drops (2 ml) is single, 180 drops (6 ml) - per day.

Intravenous administration should be slow. Injections subcutaneous and intramuscular are painful. To eliminate the unpleasant sensations before the introduction of "Cordyamine" in some cases, novocaine is used at the injection site.

Contraindicated drug with a tendency to the occurrence of convulsive reactions. It is not prescribed "Cordiamin" and with hypersensitivity, epileptic seizures in the anamnesis, hyperemia in children.

The influence of the drug in the period of gestation and lactation has not been sufficiently studied. The use in these conditions is not recommended.

It should be noted that the drug is used in the form of drops for systemic treatment, in the form of a solution for injections - to provide emergency care.
