"The Dark Knight": actors and roles

In 2005, Warner Brothers decided to revive the failure of the past millennium and tell a new story of the millionaire Bruce Wayne, better known to the general public as Batman - a man-bat.

Producer

Christopher Nolan is one of the outstanding cinematographers of our time, and all thanks to his non-trivial approach to filming films. Today, on his account, such megaprojects as "Interstellar", "Beginning", "The Dark Knight". In 1990, it was a little-known but promising director from England who could become a legend, but could go to his native Britain and "hang" over shooting commercials and TV shows.

After the thriller "Remember" about Nolan learned the whole world, but his next projects were unsuccessful. And yet in 2003, Warner had already hired Chris Nolan to shoot Batman. The Dark Knight (the actors for the film were selected only with the light hand of the director) was to become not the embodiment of the comic book hero, but a real person. Nolan wanted to create a believable story, so that the viewer did not leave the impression that this hero really lives in Chicago. Talking to the producers and not even having a script ready, the English director convinced his colleagues to invest good money in the promotion and shooting of the film. The catch was that Nolan had little knowledge of the comic world, he needed a writer who would become his guide in the world of Bruce Wayne. Then Christopher called David Goeyr and suggested together to write a script for a new "Batman". The stage of negotiations was lasting, and yet the persistent British managed to convince Goyer to take up this scenario. As time showed, the result was worth it.

"Batman": the beginning of the story

The first film was "Batman". "The Dark Knight", whose actors and roles were approved at the initial stage of writing the script, - the second, and the third part was called "The Dark Knight: The Renaissance of the Legend."

The first part tells about the childhood and formation of Bruce Wayne, about his phobias and secret desires. Eight-year-old Bruce, in front of whom his parents were killed, grows up as a closed child and wants to take revenge on the murderer of his close people. When he becomes a young man, he realizes that his native Gotham is mired in banditry, and there is no force that can stop gangsters. Bruce leaves his native penates and goes on a journey around the world, where he acquires the necessary skills of martial arts. Upon his return to his native city, he decides to become the counterweight to the criminals, whom his native Gotham lacks so much.

Neither the screenwriter nor even the director himself suspected that the film would become a franchise. So the first part started, it was successful, collected good box office. At the appearance of the second part, fans and critics unanimously said: "Welcome back, Batman." "The Dark Knight," whose actors completely disappeared in their roles, became a worthy continuation of the first part.

As such, casting for the main role of human-bat was not. A friend of the director - Christian Bale - has long expressed a desire to take part in a realistic version of "Batman". He sent Chris his samples and, despite the fact that the actor was not in the best physical shape, was accepted because of his charisma and talent.

In the summer of 2005, Batman's fans plunged into a realistic beginning of his story. The box office surpassed all expectations of the creators. After several weeks of rental it became clear that the continuation of the story will be released on the screens.

"The Dark Knight": the plot

Christopher Nolan never subscribes to lengthy projects. In the situation with "Batman" he did the same. Exactly a year there were negotiations about his participation in the sequel of the picture. Exactly one year later the director returned to the picture and brought into history not only the original vision, but also a new name - "The Dark Knight". Actors in the continuation of the story were the same, but the main highlight of Mr. Nolan brought with him. For the role of the Joker, the antagonist's head of the picture, he chose Heath Ledger, motivating his decision with the absolute fearlessness of the actor.

In the second part of the plot was no less intricate and realistic. Batman continues to eradicate crime in his hometown, but instead of the long-awaited rest receives the absolute chaos that provides the antisocial psycho Joker.

"The Dark Knight": actors and roles

In the sequel to the picture of Batman, a good cast was selected. In the role of the main superhero was the fearless Christian Bale, but the "highlight of the program" was still Heath Ledger. The actor who played the Joker in "The Dark Knight", thanks to his charisma took over the attention from the very first frames of the film.

In the second part of the picture, Rachel's role was played by Maggie Gyllenhaal. Harry Oldman, Michael Kane, Morgan Freeman and Killian Murphy returned to their former heroes . In the role of Harvey Dent appeared Aaron Eckhart.

The Magnificent Joker

In 1989, in one of the adaptations of "Batman", the role of the Joker was played by Jack Nicholson, but his hero though he was a villain, the audience eventually seemed a crazy good-natured. No one could say such a thing about Joker Heath Ledger. After the first take takes, some actors from the make-up and the sense of insanity that came from this character completely forgot the text. It happened on the first day of filming the movie "The Dark Knight". The Joker (actor Heath Ledger) was so dark that he was completely unrecognizable. To his role, he prepared more than carefully. In order to feel the inner essence of Batman's main enemy, Mr. Ledger lived in a hotel for a month and did not really communicate with people.

In the movie "The Dark Knight" the actors got used to the maximum in their roles and splashed out the whole spectrum of emotions on the screens, but the Joker character became the key in this picture. Unfortunately, Heath Ledger was found dead on January 22, 2008 in his room and could not enjoy the final result of his work. He will remember the audience as an outstanding young actor.

"The Dark Knight: The Renaissance of the Legend"

Immediately after the release of the second part and the first box-office success to the producers and fans of the film it became clear that the third part is not far off. In 2011, the shooting of the final film about the adventures of Bruce Wayne started. The Internet was filled with rumors about the storyline and new characters in the movie "The Dark Knight: The Renaissance of the Legend." Actors and roles excite fans of the franchise most. It was not known who would act as the main antagonist of the picture. To the already familiar cast was joined by Anne Hathaway, Marion Cotillard, Tom Hardy and Joseph Gordon-Levitt.

The plot was kept in the strictest secrecy, and the director orally stated the concept of ending the trikvel to actors.

After eight years of seclusion and disappearance from Gotem, Batman returns to fight the new villain, Mr. Baine. Baine is bloodthirsty, merciless and strong. Mr. Wayne did not yet have such an opponent. Not only will he have to fight the hero, but also overcome his inner fears.

On big screens the picture came out on July 16, 2012.

Reviews of critics and viewers

The franchise in the majority has received positive responses of film critics. The director's work of Christopher Nolan brought him to the level with the best filmmakers of the planet. Amazing is the fact that, despite the benevolence of art connoisseurs, Nolan did not receive an Oscar for this franchise.

The audience met the trilogy about Batman so zealously that the film at the box office collected more than $ 2.5 billion. The second and third parts of the film were recognized as one of the most anticipated and box-office pictures in the history of cinematography.

Especially popular from all three parts of the picture was the second one - "The Dark Knight". The actors of the epic epic are so lost in their characters that the public today also calls this part the most successful of the stories about Batman.

Awards, nominations, awards

All three paintings have collected a huge number of awards and prizes. The first film was nominated for an Oscar in only one nomination - for the best work of the operator. But the second part became the owner of many gold figurines. The film "The Dark Knight", whose actors differ in absolute self-giving, was recognized by the critics of the film academy in two categories: "For Better Editing" and Heath Ledger received posthumously a statuette for Best Supporting Actor. All three films were nominees and prize-winners of almost all British and American film ratings.
