Hook for binding reinforcement: what is it?

The binding of the reinforcement is required in order to assemble a box for a future reinforced concrete structure - the foundation of the house or its entire walls and ceilings. The bars are connected to each other in those places where they are crossed by means of a special knitting wire made of metal with a diameter of 0.8-1.2 millimeters, supplied in coils. For this procedure, a hook for binding reinforcement is traditionally used.

Process Features

A knitting wire is used to connect crossed rods. Its ends then need to be twisted by means of pliers, which allows to tighten the connection. Usually for one screed a piece of wire is required, the length of which is approximately 20 centimeters, folded in half. Hook for binding reinforcement greatly simplifies the process. It can be simple or helical. Knitting armature is made by folding the wire in half, after which the loop is put on the hook. At the same time, the unfastened ends wrap around the junction of the rods, after which they are placed in the device.

You can increase the speed even more by using a self-reflex. A crochet hook is inserted into it as a tip, followed by a scrolling with the help of this tool, and not by hands. Specialized viscers allow to speed up the process, since they are able to connect one node per second. They work from batteries. They can easily load a whole coil of wire.

Hook device

The simplest hook for binding reinforcement, the price of which starts from 500 rubles, is a rod made of metal, at the end curved in the shape of a hook, which makes it easy to grip the loop. The rod of elongated form allows, in combination with the bearing in the handle, to produce the fastest rotation possible, due to this the loop is tightened, fastening the rods.

The screw hook for mating the reinforcement has a slightly different design. This is already a mechanized version of the traditional device. It has a similar operating principle: the loop is tightened by rotating the tip. However, there is a difference in that the rotation is transmitted to the tip by means of a worm gear during the forward movement of the handle up and down. Mating with this option is much faster, but the cost of this device is higher, so its purchase will be advisable only with a significant amount of work.

Sometimes a hook for binding reinforcement is an inefficient solution, for example, when building a large object consisting of monolithic concrete. In this case, the amount of work is very large. For such situations, you can use a special gun for binding, which is designed to make one connection per second.
