Lice: symptoms of pediculosis and methods of treatment

Three types of lice can parasitize a person: head, pubic and ward. Do not think that pediculosis (lice), the symptoms of which we consider further, may be the lot of homeless people or extremely untidy descended people. Unfortunately, each of us risks getting this "pleasure". Therefore, it is worth to know how these parasites look and, most importantly, how to get rid of them.

Head lice: symptoms

In the hair on the head (preferring the back of the head and whiskey), less often the head louse likes to settle on the eyebrows and eyelashes. It is a translucent, grayish-white parasite with a size not exceeding 4 mm. It feeds on the person's blood, injecting into the microscopic bite the substance that prevents the blood from clotting and causing an unbearable itch. It just serves as the main sign that there are "lodgers" in the hair. In addition, you can find where the lice have settled, the symptoms are no less obvious - they are nits - tiny white "seeds", spikelets attached to the base of the hair.

A person experiences a constant desire to comb the places of the bite, bringing a secondary infection into the wound. Because of this, there are inflammations, crusts and swelling in the area of itching.

Pubic lice: symptoms, photo

In other words, they are called "carpenters". These are sedentary parasites, which are extremely difficult to consider with the naked eye. As it is already clear by the name, they settle, as a rule, on the hairy areas in the genital area, but are found both under the armpits, and on the covered "vegetation" of the chest, and in the beard. These lice appear after the sexual act, having moved from the infected person to the healthy one. But there are cases of infection through towels and underwear. Without a human, lice live a day, and nits last longer. So be careful!

The main symptom of the appearance of pubic lice is the same strongest itch. Sometimes it manifests only at night, just not allowing to close your eyes, and sometimes it stalks all day. Constant combing of bites can lead to the appearance of a copy, which, of course, threatens with infections.

Another symptom is quite noticeable bruising at the bite sites. These bruises appear due to the injection of a secret that interferes with blood clotting, or as a result of a small hemorrhage where the proboscis of the parasite has penetrated.

Louse lice: symptoms

This type of lice settles mainly on clothing, in places most closely adjacent to the body: on the collar, on the cuffs, in the seams and on the bed linen. There, parasites lay eggs, in contrast to head and pubic lice, doing this on a man.

In addition, this species is especially dangerous in that it can cause typhus.

How to get rid of lice

The usual washing of the head, hygiene procedures in case of infection with pubic lice and washing clothes and clothes when finding parasites are not an option! In order to remove them, in the case of the first, you just need to shave off all the vegetation. This is not a terrible loss - hair will grow back! The skin on the lesions is disinfected with 10% mercury ointment.

The lice are destroyed by boiling and steam. They can not tolerate high temperatures. In addition, the infected things must be hung out for a week under the sun's rays for ventilation.

And head lice, whose presence symptoms have already been described, are derived with the help of a huge number of drugs presented in pharmacies (most importantly, carefully read the instructions) and a special frequent comb. Of the folk remedies, the most effective are tar and dust soap, as well as cranberry juice.
