The biggest car. The biggest truck. Very large machines

Large industry - great machinery! This is the slogan of perhaps all the giants of the world industry. The incredible power and power of industrial machines - not only a guarantee of success, but also a symbol of leadership in large-scale production. What are the most gigantic miracles of technology invented by mankind to this day? We will compose a small rating of vehicles capable of moving overland. Let's start with the smaller of the largest.

Bucyrus MT6300AC

This giant dump truck is the largest machine - a thunderstorm of all sand pits, the common brainchild of the two world leaders in the production of construction equipment (companies Unit Rig and Terex), created back in 2007 in the United States. This off-road car received from its inventors a powerful diesel engine (almost 4 thousand horsepower) with twenty cylinders and a turbocharger. Fuel is fed into a tank with a capacity of almost 5,000 liters. Of course, such equipment requires unimaginable dimensions: 15.6 m in length, 9.7 m in width and 7.9 m in height. The wheelbase is 6.6 m. And this whole structure weighs no less, 240 tons, and you can plant more than 360 tons of cargo on it! With all this, the engine can be accelerated to 64 km / h.

Liebherr LTM 11200-9.1

This huge telescopic crane has received one more name - "mammoth", after all it is considered as the highest and powerful self-propelled jib crane, created Humanity in its entire history. German developers have so improved their creation that the LTM 11200-9.1 is 30 times more powerful than conventional mobile cranes! This is the largest machine of its kind - there is no such self-propelled equipment on the whole planet that can easily lift 1,2 thousand tons of cargo to 180-meter height. All this thanks to an arrow consisting of 8 sections, which, being pulled out, are automatically fixed at the required height.

The boom is additionally equipped with extensions and cables of great strength, which makes the machine even more versatile. The weight of the 11-meter hook is 11 tons. To maintain such a structure, the 22-ton base was equipped with 18 additional plates with a total weight of 180 tons. In order to evenly distribute this load between the four hydraulic supports, iron bases are placed under each of them. Strange as it may seem, the control of such a crane is a pleasure, because the electronic control panel brings the driver to practically automatic operation.

Crawler Conveyor

This is perhaps the largest lorry tracked vehicle in the world, and it is intended for the movement of space shuttles and missiles. In particular, by means of these tractors, rockets "Saturn 5" were moved in the framework of the sensational program "Apollo". The development of this machine was entrusted to the company Bucyrus International, but the implementation of the project was implemented by Marion Power Shovel Co. As a result of this cooperation, two identical caterpillar vehicles were created, which to this day affectionately call Hans and Franz.

In appearance, these are rectangular two-level platforms with a width of 40 and a length of 35 meters, equipped with 12-meter crawler mechanisms. Caterpillars are rotated thanks to four autonomous generators, which drive 16 electric motors. Such a construction is capable of withstanding 2 thousand tons of load.

The pride of this machine is the big motors, which there are two. Their total capacity is about 5 thousand horsepower, and they allow the loaded area to move at a speed of 2 km / h. To ensure the uninterrupted operation of such engines, an unbelievable fuel consumption is required - 350 l / km, so the conveyor belt is equipped with a tank containing 19 thousand liters of fuel. This weighs almost 2.5 thousand tons, and to manage it, it is necessary to attract at least 11 people!

Bagger 288

The second largest machine in the world was built by the German company Krupp, commissioned by Rheinbraun in 1978. This one-of-a-kind monster is able to produce daily not one hundred tons of minerals. Having 240 meters long, 40 meters wide and almost 100 meters high, this giant is still able to move along the roads! Imagine a 13,000-ton carnival the size of two football fields, which moves by itself - incredible! To ensure that this did not fall under the ground and did not spoil the soil, the engineers equipped the excavator with 12 caterpillars, each of which is about 4 meters in length. As a result, Bagger 288 creates an absolutely insignificant (literally the same as under the weight of a person) pressure on the surface of the soil.

This machine is just an electric power eater, which needs approximately the same amount as the power station of the average city. Power is produced through a kilometer cable, which is wound around a huge coil.

What surprises the most? Very large machines are surprisingly easy to operate. Bagger 288, for example, requires only 4 people for this. To ensure their continuous operation, the excavator is equipped with a quite comfortable room for rest (it even has a kitchen and a toilet).

Bagger 293

And finally, the record among the record-holders is the largest self-propelled land-based machine in the world, created back in 1995. This is a kind of heir to the aforementioned Bagger 288. The 225 meter high weighs about 14 thousand tons and rises above the ground to a height of 95 meters, and it should be managed by 5 people at the same time. The well-coordinated work of the team and this iron monster allows us to move about a quarter of a million cube daily. Meters of the breed. It's almost the same as digging a hole 25 meters deep in the whole football field! Help in this case 20 buckets, the volume of each of which is 15 cubic meters. Meters. Buckets are attached to a rotary wheel with a diameter of 23 meters, which rotates at a speed of 50 revolutions per minute.

Who and why do you need the biggest car in the world?

The happy owner of this giant is the German manufacturer
Energy RWE Power AG, which uses an excavator during the operation of a large coal mine Hambach. To implement the engineering concept, Krupp needed more than 5 years, but it cost $ 100 million.

Even a single photo of the largest machine ever created by a man makes you think about the possibilities of modern engineering and construction, which were not thought of before. Impressive dimensions, strength and power - these are the main allies of modern technology.
