The best Polish car: review, features, features and reviews

Not every person has heard about the Polish automobile industry. So it is, cars from this country are very rare. The only popular model that deserves the title of the best is the "Beetle". Let's look at this Polish car, its technical characteristics and main features. There is something to talk about, because the history of the creation of this machine goes back to the post-war period.

General information

After the end of the Second World War two large automobile plants appeared in Poland. They made minibuses, small trucks and vans on a passenger basis. In the 70-80-ies, despite the fact that these cars were considered foreign cars, they were quite widespread in the territory of Russia.

The most vivid representative is the Polish car "Zhuk", which was manufactured at the Lublin truck plant. The factory began its activity in 1951 and at first it produced trucks with a weight of 2.5 tons of "Lyublino-51". In fact, it was an analogue of the domestic GAZ-51. Unfortunately, the expectations of the developers were not justified. The car of such carrying capacity and with the big expense of fuel did not use demand. That is why in 1956 the production of a passenger delivery car "Zhuk" began. The carrying capacity of this model reached 900 kilograms with an engine capacity of 50 horsepower. Gearbox 3-speed. Already in 1959, mass production was opened.

Real Polish quality

In the 60 years in our country "Beetles" were presented at the exhibition. It was not just one car, but a whole family. Here you could find vans A-05 and A-06, truck trucks and even pick-up A-13. At that time, the Polish "Beetle" received wide publicity and was highly appreciated. The car was characterized as reliable and designed for years of operation under the most unfavorable conditions. At the same time, the quality of the Polish assembly and the fit of the body parts were at an altitude, which could not but surprise. And the appearance was very attractive.

In the future, a huge number of modifications were produced, some of them we will consider a little lower. But first it should be noted that even now, "Beetles" on our roads meet. Most often, this transport is used in agriculture. After all, it is passable and stable, and it is being repaired, as many motorists say, "on my knee" in the field.

Truck A-03 and A-11

On-board truck A-03 has a fairly spacious body - 4 square meters. At the same time, the carrying capacity is about 900 kilograms. Model A-03 won recognition far beyond Poland. The fact that this truck allows you to transport a variety of goods, the maximum length of which can be 4310 mm, and the width - 1765 mm. Thus in a body it is possible to immerse and volumetric subjects up to 2100 mm in height. However, do not forget about the carrying capacity, which is not so great.

Model A-11 - modification A-03. The key difference is that the cargo platform is lifted. This decision was made in order to remove the notches for the wheels in the side structure. The load capacity has slightly increased. This Polish truck could carry 950 kilograms, the engine is set to 70 horsepower.

A-13 and "Beetle" -fire

As already mentioned above, the most popular brand of Polish cars is the "Beetle". His models were in demand and serially produced. That's why the designers have constantly modernized the most popular ones. Take, for example, A-13. This model was used for the most part in Poland. For the climate of the USSR, it was not suitable for the simple reason that it was equipped with a canvas tarpaulin. In Russia, the most popular model was A-06, which was considered the development of the same A-13.

And, of course, we can not say about one of the most extravagant models. The so-called "Beetle" -fire (A-15) had a corresponding red-white color. The key feature was that the car had a closed body. This allowed to use this car at low temperatures. And his patency was at a high level.

Demand for "Zhukov" in the USSR

Already in the 70 years it was possible to talk about a positive trend in the growth of sales of Polish cars in Russia. For example, in 1967, Russia purchased only 370 cars, and already in 1972 around 30 000 Zhukov of various modifications were rolling around the country. Such popularity is due to the fact that there were practically no competitors. The only car, similar in all characteristics - Yeraz-762. But the main problem was that the production capacity of the Soviet plant was not enough to cover the demand.

Only in 1977 there was the first serious competitor of RAF 2203. But even here the production capacity was not enough. Many can say that we had so-called "loaves", but these cars were all-wheel drive and for the most part were used in off-road conditions. The city version was a failure, "Beetle" on its background looked more promising.

A small review of Arrinera Automotive

Few know about the existence of the Polish car Arrinera. This supercar, which was presented to the public last year. This car was named Hussarya GT, in honor of the invincible Polish Hussar cavalry. As for the technical characteristics, there is something to see. Compressor engine V8 6.2 liters produced by the American company "General Motors". Box 6-step sequential. All this gives about 435 horsepower.

It's too early to talk about overclocking up to a hundred, because testing has not been done. The estimated maximum speed is 250-260 kilometers per hour. The weight of the car is 1,250 kilograms. The body is made of high-strength steel, but components such as Kevlar and carbon fiber were also used. It is worth noting that there is practically no production of components. This led to the fact that many systems were borrowed from other manufacturers. For example, ABS - "Bosch", 6-piston brake system - "Alcon", etc. Even critics called the car a kit car, that is, assembled from components from various manufacturers.

Cars of the company "FSO"

This Polish automobile plant was launched after the Second World War. During the period of its existence, about 252 thousand cars were produced, which is somewhat more than the Soviet "Victories", which also became very popular among the inhabitants of the USSR.

Already in 1953 the Polish engineers developed a car "Sirena". A few years later such cars appeared in the Soviet Union. Polish numbers flaunted on Syrena long enough, since cars were produced before 1972. After that, the production was transferred to a small car factory. The production was closed only in 1983.

Another little-known brand - Polski Fiat 125p. In fact, this is the Italian "Fiat", with minor changes. When the term of the purchased production license expired, another brand of car was launched into production.

FSO Polonez

The release of this model was launched in 1978 and continued until 2002. The name Polonez was in honor of the same Polish dance. In the first year, three cars came off the assembly line - Polonaise 1300, 1500 and 2000 rally cars. Numbers mean the volume of the engine. Accordingly, the latter model was designed for off-road operation. In 1979, this car participated in the rally, which was held in Paris.

In 1986 there was a model "Polonaise" 1,500 H. The power unit for 1481 cubic centimeter produced about 80 horsepower. The motor was paired with a mechanical 5-speed box. Of the nice extras, there was a radio tape recorder. Virtually all models of "Polonaise" had low production costs and at the same time were very reliable. That is why they were popular in countries such as the Netherlands, China, Bolivia, Greece, Italy and others. In 1997, the release was terminated, as the models did not comply with European environmental standards. In 2002, the issue was completely discontinued.

A bit about the Nysa model

The release of this Polish car began in 1957 in the city of Nysa in the former furniture factory. The first model N57 was designed to transport people. In fact, this is a minibus, the development of which is partly engaged in the company "FSO". The base was used from "Warsaw", and the latter, in turn, was analogous to GAZ-M-20. Already in 1958, the production of the N58 model was established. At the same time, the enterprise was renamed to FSD.

In 1960, the passenger car N60T appeared. It was equipped with a 70-horsepower engine of its own production. After 4 years on the roads of Poland began to appear Nysa 501. This model with an updated and slightly enlarged body. Also, the developers slightly reworked the front of the car, making it more attractive.

Unfortunately, at present there is practically no own automobile industry in Poland. But, despite this, the cars are somewhat cheaper there. Therefore, many Russians and Ukrainians go to receive a Polish technical passport for a car and cross the border without customs clearance. Nevertheless, in recent years, production of various components for European, American and domestic cars has been established. This is the elements of the running, exhaust system and much more. Even Polish batteries for cars are quite popular in Russia. This is a high-quality battery and at an affordable price.
