Blood during pregnancy: how dangerous is it

Pregnancy is the most important period in a woman's life, when it's just necessary to carefully monitor your health and pay attention to any changes. After all, even the slightest violation can lead to irreversible consequences. Blood during pregnancy is a serious reason for contacting an obstetrician-gynecologist without any hesitation.

If the expectant mother does not pay attention to this symptom in time and descends everything in its own right, it is fraught with miscarriage. Do not self-medicate, re-reading an incredible number of women's magazines and sites - your body is individual, and only a doctor can make a diagnosis and prescribe the right treatment (if needed). It must be remembered that blood during pregnancy is not the norm, it is a clear deviation.

According to the doctors, the first and last trimesters of pregnancy are most dangerous. It is during these periods that various complications develop, both vaginal and uterine. Blood in the early stages of pregnancy can indicate the presence of erosion of the cervix.

Also, bleeding can provoke benign tumors that form in the cervix and directly inside it. It should be noted that significant blood loss and pain is not observed. Usually such neoplasms are easily removed and do not harm the health of the future mother and fetus.

Dense blood during pregnancy, especially of dark brown color, can be observed with serious complications - oncology, pathology of the cervix, infectious diseases of the vagina and varicose vasodilation on the genitals. In such situations, one can not hesitate for a minute, it is urgent to call an ambulance.

Often the blood during pregnancy in the first weeks may appear due to detachment of the fetal egg. In this case, as a rule, the allocation is meager, pink or light brown in color, without accompanying the pain syndrome. This is due to a lack of hormone progesterone, which is responsible for the normal development of pregnancy. If the body cope on its own, the detachment can stop. But most often a drug containing this hormone is prescribed.

Detachment of the placenta may occur late in life and lead to the threat of termination of pregnancy. But the treatment will be more difficult than in the first weeks. A woman must be hospitalized, she will be under constant medical supervision.

The most serious and dangerous complication is spontaneous miscarriage. Everything begins with minor discharge, and ends with bleeding and severe spasmodic pain. Another cause of bleeding is ectopic pregnancy. In time, an unnoticed tubal pregnancy can result in a fatal outcome for a woman or lead to rupture of the cervix.

Blood during pregnancy in the second trimester appears against the background of an abnormal placenta (at the bottom of the uterus, when it partially or completely blocks the exit of the cervix). With such problems, the fetus loses oxygen, which can subsequently adversely affect its mental development. In most cases, the woman is kept in the gynecology before delivery. It is contraindicated in any physical and emotional stress, so as not to aggravate the condition.

Remember, any spotting signals about trouble, and how dangerous they are, can only be understood by a gynecologist by conducting the necessary tests (ultrasound, blood, urine). Pregnancy is a serious test for the body of a woman, so a future mother needs to visit a doctor on time and follow all the recommendations in order to endure a healthy baby.
