Than to warm the house outside. Materials for insulation

Even in the most durable modern cottage, in the construction of which a lot of money is invested, the owner will not have the desired comfort, if the quality of the thermal insulation system was ignored during the construction.

This issue is also relevant in inexpensive budgetary construction, because properly executed heat insulation of the walls of the house will save the cost of its heating in the cold period. In the summer, the system will prevent penetration into the debilitating heat, and the need for air conditioning will be minimized, which will have a positive impact on energy costs.

In this regard, the question arises - what to insulate the house, what material for insulation is considered the most effective?

For insulation of walls today choose three main types of insulation:

1. Organic insulation . The basis of this material - straw, reeds, wood waste, peat and other natural raw materials. These materials are characterized by low moisture resistance, another disadvantage of organic heaters is their susceptibility to fungal attack. Therefore, they are used only in rooms where high humidity is not expected. The same group includes different types of gas-filled plastics, which, in comparison with the previous organic materials, have a number of advantages. First of all, they are resistant to the effects of a wet destructive environment. Secondly, they have high heat-saving performance. When choosing a method how to insulate the walls, of course, preference should be given to expanded polystyrene, foam, foam and other types of organic insulants. However, they also have one drawback - a low degree of fire resistance, which allows them to be used only in environments with a maximum permissible temperature of + 100 degrees Celsius.

2. Inorganic heaters . This group includes mineral wool materials, foam glass and cellular concrete, fiberglass and other inorganics. The advantages of such heaters include their high vapor permeability, resistance to high temperatures. If, choosing what to insulate the house, the main emphasis is made on increased water absorption of the material, it is better to stop on hydrophobized mineral plates. Their high characteristics as moisture absorbers make it possible to widely apply the material for the warming of facades with high humidity.

3. Mixed insulation. Such materials are used in construction less often because of their high cost and high specific gravity. To this group of heaters are materials made on the basis of asbestos, as well as perlite, vermiculite, which are based on special rocks.

Along with the question, what to insulate the house, there is another - how to do it. Typically, the insulation is mounted outside the structure, which allows you to maintain the internal volume of the room. The facade thus acquires a special evenness, which is important for the subsequent finish finishing. Thermal insulation also performs a protective function, protecting the walls from negative environmental influences.

There are cases when the architectural features of the building do not allow the laying of insulation on the outside of the house, so it is carried out from the inside.

Than to warm the house from the inside?

Extruded expanded polystyrene or mineral wool is used for this purpose - materials that combine high thermal insulation properties, accessibility and ease of installation, as well as low cost. When internal insulation is taken into account such important features as the moisture regime of the structure, the need to lay an additional layer of vapor barrier.

External insulation of walls is produced in three ways:

1. Ventilated facade.

2. Plastering of walls with a thin layer on the heater, attached to the wall.

3. Insulate the heater in the middle of the wall.

Most often use the first or second method of warming.
