Synestral pregnancy: features of the drug use

Synestrol is a hormonal drug that stimulates the absorption of glucose, increases insulin sensitivity. It is also called to increase the level of alpha-proteins in the blood cells.

Synestrol during pregnancy is often prescribed only in the event that it is necessary to interrupt it. Many doctors prescribe an injection of this drug, if a woman wants to cause a spontaneous miscarriage.

In general, this medication is used to treat dysfunction of the ovaries, infertility and vaginitis. As a rule, the medicine is administered intramuscularly. The daily dosage should not exceed 0.003 g, and the single dose should not exceed 0.002 g. If the treatment with malignancies is performed with the help of synestrol, the dosage changes: daily - 0.06 g, and single - 0.1 g.

The appointment of this drug is carried out only by a specialist. And the doctor should supervise process of treatment constantly. Before using the drug, it needs to be heated to 30-38 degrees. If crystals fall out, it is necessary to heat the water bath until they dissolve completely.

Synestrol during pregnancy promotes stimulation of the uterus, as it is generally prescribed for the stabilization of menstruation. Therefore, in the initial terms, it causes bleeding, that is, the disruption of pregnancy. In the presence of uterine and genital bleeding, estrogen-dependent formations of malignant nature, as well as with thrombophlebitis and thromboembolism, the use of this drug is categorically contraindicated.

Naturally, any drug has side effects. Is not an exception and synestrol. The instruction on the use of this medicine among the possible consequences calls such problems:

1. In women, libido increases, mammary gland enlargement and exacerbation of their sensitivity are observed, smearing vaginal discharge appears, as well as bleeding and amenorrhea.
2. In men, however, the libido decreases, and also the morbidity of the mammary glands and gynecomastia develops.
3. Often there is vomiting (very often sinestrol during pregnancy also causes the appearance of a similar symptom), migraine, anorexia, intestinal flatulence, persistent headaches, hepatitis, diarrhea and biliary colic.

As for interaction with other drugs, during the simultaneous use of antiestrogen drugs and synestrol, the first block receptors and weaken the effect of the hormone estrogen on the body.

If you use synestrol during pregnancy with folic acid, then the risk of miscarriage increases significantly, because it increases the effect of the drug. When this medication is prescribed together with gestagenic medicines, the side effects of the former are significantly reduced.

In general, note that synestrol is prescribed to stabilize the menstrual cycle and alleviate menopausal syndrome. In addition, the drug helps prevent osteoporosis.

If an overdose occurs, the drug can experience uterine bleeding, toxic liver damage, and peripheral edema. The blood begins to quickly collapse. As for men, feminization begins to manifest itself vividly (decrease in testes, increase in mammary glands).
