Socket installation and grounding

Today, no one house can do without electricity. In our time, household appliances are becoming more diverse, so it is reasonable to note that the more outlets in the house, the better.

It is important that the installation of the outlet is carried out in accordance with the PUE and the adopted state GOSTs. To the attention of the readers, employees of state institutions will check the wiring for errors, inspect the grounding, and if there is a discrepancy with the rules, they will be forced to redo it, and they will also be fined.

Today, the installation of the outlet is not less than 25 cm from the floor. Installation begins with the layout of the location of the attribute. Depending on the customer's preferences, the groove in the wall can be round or square. The work is performed by a perforator, while the contours of the hole are subsequently adjusted with plaster.

Installation of a telephone socket can be carried out both with a deepening, and without it, in this case it is unprincipled. At the same time, it is recommended to install the socket for electrical appliances with a deepening in the wall, thus, an accidental physical impact on the case is practically eliminated. Failure to ground the outlet may result in a short circuit and electric shock.

The inner part is fixed with the help of sliding tabs, which act as spacers. If you install them correctly, then it is almost impossible to pull out the base. Today, external wiring is not realized, as it is not aesthetically pleasing: both wires, sockets, and switches are literally mounted in the walls.

Before grounding the outlet, a ground loop is carried out . In the open area, a small triangular construction, welded from thin metal strips, is buried for several meters. To it the metal pin from which the grounding circuit in the form of metal conductors conducts.

Each socket must be earthed to this circuit. It is forbidden to ground the loop. In other words, a separate wire from each socket must be connected, which is connected by the second end to the ground loop. If the grounding is done with a loop, then at a break in one of the points the chain will burst and life will be threatened.

As we know, the current goes at the least resistance. If a person is under tension, then a current flows through him and leaves into the ground. In the case of a device grounding, when a person comes into contact with live parts, the main charge will go directly to the ground. Thus, the installation of a socket without grounding is not permissible.

However, this scheme is relevant for power supply from substations with isolated neutral to 0.4 kV. If the house has a "phase" and a deafly grounded "zero" (as, indeed, today do in most cases), then the grounding wire in the outlet is not needed. Unfortunately, the inspectors still force it to mount, possibly in the future it will be relevant in all homes.

If the installation of the outlet is made by professionals, then the connection of the contacts is carried out in a certain order (if, of course, they are live). First, connect the ground, then "zero" and only then "phase". Dismantling is done in the reverse order.
