"Zenith"

Sergey returned to his homeland in 1995 and again began to play for the St. Petersburg Zenit.

In the 1997 season, several players from Moscow's "Spartak" were injured, and the team needed urgent help. Sergei Dmitriev went to replace the injured. Nevertheless, the Moscow team failed to play the qualification games of the Champions League, and the defender soon returned to St. Petersburg.
