Sandwich panels for element-by-element assembly: characteristics and types

Sandwich panels for element-by-piece assembly are three-layer building structures that are characterized by fairly large dimensions. They are based on the core of a thermal insulation material.

general description

Sandwich panels of element-by-piece assembly, metal profiles in which in the base, can have different thermal insulation. It is selected from the most effective materials by the type of non-combustible plates based on basalt mineral wool, as well as self-extinguishing polystyrene foam. In the first case, the fibers are oriented perpendicular, and the density of the structure can vary from 110 to 120 kilograms per cubic meter. In the second case, the density is from 15.1 to 25 kilograms per cubic meter. The described layer can have a different thickness, which is selected depending on the climatic conditions of the terrain where it is proposed to build and operate the house.

Materials used

The core can have roofing sandwich panels made of mineral wool with a base on the basis of basalt fiber. On both sides the material is protected by a galvanized steel liner that has a protective coating. It consists of a polymer composition, a primer and an anticorrosive mixture. In addition, the lining profiles guarantee additional rigidity. Sandwich panels for element-by-piece assembly are assembled using high-quality polyurethane one-component adhesive. Panels are fixed to each other during the installation process, using grips for roof panels. Such slabs should be used for roofs that have a minimum slope of 5 degrees, as for solid structures; And 7 degrees, when there is a need to connect the plates among themselves along the length.

Technical characteristics of roof panels

Sandwich panels of the element-by-piece assembly, the installation instructions of which will be presented below, can have different thickness, length and width. The standard ratio of panel dimensions for all manufacturers, as a rule, is the same. Thus, the thickness can vary from 6 to 20 centimeters, the length from 50 to 140, and the width is 1 meter. The only difference is that mineral wool plates have a thickness that starts from 80 millimeters. Whereas the largest length is 150 millimeters.

Considering wall sandwich panels of element-wise assembly, you should pay attention to their characteristics, among them the thermal conductivity, which depends on the thickness. These values for expanded polystyrene and mineral wool differ insignificantly. If the first of these materials has a thickness of 100 millimeters, the density is 0.375 k * W / (m2 · K) a, while at the same thickness of mineral wool, its density is 0.418.

Roof sandwich panels of elemental assembly are distinguished by high water resistance, which is guaranteed by the excellent water-repellent properties of mineral wool. Materials in the composition do not have the effect of capillary absorption of moisture. From penetration of water and air, the inner layer of products is protected by sealing sealing materials, which are located in the joints along longitudinal joints. As the main advantage of the structure for the arrangement of the roof is the noise absorption, which is provided by two factors, among them reflection of sound waves from the surface, and also the transformation of the sound wave into thermal energy. Builders note a low mass, which can be compared with the weight inherent in traditional building materials. This makes the roofing sandwich panels convenient for transportation, as well as storage and installation.

Characteristics of bearing capacity and fire resistance

Roof sandwich panels of element-by-piece assembly have a high index of bearing capacity. This is due to the fact that the core is fairly tight against the outer profiles, so the loads are distributed evenly. Outer layers of metal, tensile-compressive forces are perceived fairly stably, while the insulation takes up the effort to shear. When designing an object of any designation an important characteristic is the fire resistance of a roofing system. In the production of sandwich-cladding materials are used that are classified as non-combustible.

Characteristics of wall panels

Wall sandwich panels of elemental assembly differ almost the same characteristics that are characteristic of roofing structures. For example, they have a high level of thermal insulation, excellent noise and sound absorption, as well as low weight. The latter quality allows building buildings almost without the use of lifting equipment. The installation time is reduced, installation of structures can be carried out under any weather conditions, the main thing is that the insulation remains in a dry state. In addition to additional features, you can distinguish maintainability, for this the entire wall is not required to disassemble. To replace the damaged panels, it will be enough to remove the outer lining and replace the failed components with new ones. If you compare with glued sandwich panels, which are delivered to the construction site in a ready-to-use state, then it is possible to distinguish the lower cost of the component-by-element assemblies.

Production features

The production of sandwich panels for elemental assembly provides for the use of cold-rolled hot-dip galvanized steel. In the course of manufacturing, a protective film is applied to the metal of the sandwich profile, which is designed to protect the surface from damage during loading / unloading and installation work. As the basis of the panel is a profile, which is represented by a three-dimensional thick sheet construction made by cold forming. The last element is made of galvanized steel sheet covered with a polymer. The coating, which is applied to the outer skin, has the qualities of resistance to sun exposure, abrasion and the influence of various acids. Products are not subject to corrosion during storage and use. In the sandwich-profile is installed a heater, which is fixed by the wind-barrier, and then - by the outer lining. In its role, as a rule, is used profiled sheeting with a polymer coating.

Varieties of wall products

Sandwich panels of element-by-element assembly, whose nodes will be described in more detail below, are divided into several variants. Among the first, South-100 and 150 can be distinguished. For these products a sandwich profile is used, whose depth is 100 or 150 millimeters. A heater can have a total thickness of 100 millimeters. As a rule, two layers of thermal insulation are used, each of which has a thickness of 50 millimeters. This eliminates the coincidence of seams between the layers of plates. To avoid the occurrence of cold bridges between the profile and the lining, a heat-separating strip based on "Izolon" is used, as well as a strip that is cut from heat-insulating slabs.

The second type of wall panels is the Center -100 + 30 and 150 + 30. The insulation is used here by analogy with the above-described option, but Isover heat-insulating plates, whose thickness is 30 millimeters, are additionally fixed on the outer surface. At the same time, the seam deflection is ensured. Option North 100 + 50 and 150 + 50 is made with an internal layer of insulation in 50 millimeters, as well as an outer layer of thermal insulation of 100 millimeters. The outer layer is cut from above and half the thickness is filled with a profile so that 50 millimeters of thermal insulation are located in the cavity of the profile.

Arctic

On sale, you can also find a variant of the "Arctic", the manufacture of which provides for the use of a heater with a total thickness of the inner layer of 100 millimeters, the outer layer has a thickness of 150 millimeters. At a third of the thickness, the insulation of the outer layer is cut and filled so that 50 millimeters of thermal insulation are located in the cavity of the sandwich profile. In the role of a supporting element for the formation of an additional layer of insulation in the options "North" and "Arctic" amplification elements are used.

Installation instructions

If you decide to use prefabricated sandwich panels in the construction of elemental assemblies, then you must follow certain installation rules. Technology is not difficult, but it requires all requirements to be met. The first sandwich profile should be fixed to the frame by two edges using self-tapping screws. A sealing tape is laid in the joint between the frame and the sandwich profile . Joints between sandwich panels should be sealed with special seals or filled with joint sealant.

The installation instructions for sandwich panels for element-by-element assembly provide for the next step to place the upper element of the previous element in the following structure. The fixation is carried out simultaneously. After the sealing of the profiles is completed, a thermal insulation is installed inside. A vapor barrier membrane is attached above the heater . At the next stage, a skeleton is established, which is also referred to as the reference run. It should be selected, according to the material at the base of the cladding. The gap between the liner and the vapor barrier should be approximately 20 millimeters. In this case, air will circulate in it, realizing the basic principle of the ventilation facade. On the frame, the next step is the installation of a cladding.

Recommendations of a specialist

Depending on the type of lining, certain shaped elements for the panels are used. These are internal and external corners, ebb and flow, as well as window frames that can be lateral and upper. This includes, for example, the elements of the ridge, etc. It is important to choose additional elements for panels in tone or a contrasting hue, everything will depend on the wishes of the owner of the house. Shaped additional elements carry not only a decorative, but also a protection function. It is important to protect the layer of heat insulation from moisture, as, for example, for mineral wool, water will mean loss of thermal insulating qualities by the material and its gradual destruction.

Recommendations for installation of roofing sandwich panels

Installation of sandwich panels of element-wise assembly on the roof is made in the direction from the cap to the top. The installation should start from the building angle, and each next tier should be laid after the installation of the previous one. In places where the panels adhere to the frame, a thermo-separating strip should be applied.
