Rose Bonica: description, photo
Rosa Bonica, whose photo is presented in this article, is one of the most common modern roses. It was bred in 1985, since that time its popularity has been growing.
Rose Bonica: description
The height of the bush depends on the climatic conditions and varies from 80 to 120 cm. The young plant has a basic lower tier, during the growing season, long branches grow up from it, covered with flower brushes. Later, as a result of pruning, the pink bush acquires a rounded shape.
There are not very many leaves on the bush, they are shiny, dark green, leathery. The flowers are small, about 5 cm in diameter. The color in the middle is rich pink, those petals that are located at the edges are pale pink, almost white. When the bud is fully opened, the petals burn out in the sun, and the whole flower becomes a tender light pink color. Buds are collected in a brush for 5-20 pieces in one.
Blossom Bonica (rose) begins very abundantly at the beginning of summer, then the flowers become slightly smaller, but the bush continues to delight the eye until September itself. Those flowers that have already faded, it is recommended to immediately delete. If you leave, then in their place will appear red-orange fruit. They will stay on the branches until the very spring. As a result, flowering will be weak, as the bush has spent a lot of effort on the development of fruits.
How to choose a place for a plant?
Rosa Bonica likes to luxuriate in the sun. The place for its planting should be looked for if it is "planted" this beauty in the shade, then it will not so abundantly blossom. If you want to protect the rose bush from black spotting, then do not drop it where there is stagnant moist air. Choose a place that is well ventilated. The rose does not tolerate stagnation of water, so the soil must be water-permeable and fertilized.
Planting of seedlings
Planting seedlings in a permanent place in the open ground is recommended in spring. Did you decide to buy seedlings in the store? Then buy them in pots, so that there is not a weak twig, but a seedling with at least three shoots.
On the chosen place, you need to dig a pit 50-50 cm in size, the depth should be 50 cm. A mixture of earth, compost and fertilizer for roses is prepared. Seedling along with a clod of earth from the pot is placed in a prepared pit and covered with an earth mixture level with the soil level.
Rosa Bonica feels wonderful both in solitary plantings and in group ones. The distance between the rose bushes should be 70-80 cm. You can use this plant as a hedge or as a border along the path. Bonika looks beautiful next to evergreen conifers and perfectly combines with lavender, wormwood and clematis.
Top dressing
To Rose Bonica pleased its owners with abundant and long flowering, twice a season it needs to be fertilized with a fertilizer intended for roses.
Trimming
Rose Bonica needs pruning. This procedure should be carried out every spring. Branches cut about a third of the length, it depends on what kind of decorative purposes is pruning. It is necessary to remove the frozen, dry, broken and growing branches of the bush.
Diseases
If you want to avoid the "attack" of black spotting, you need to make sure that the rose bush does not thicken. First of all, it is necessary to remove weak thin twigs, since they will not be able to survive the winter frosts anyway.
For the prevention of diseases it is recommended to sprinkle the soil around the bush with ashes. For the same reason, the rose is treated with "Fitosporin".
If the leaves have black or brown spots, then immediately they need to be removed and burned, so that the disease does not spread throughout the garden and flower garden. The injured bush should be treated with special copper-containing preparations. With the treatment you need to hurry, so that the bush has time to gain strength before the frosts come, otherwise the weak plant after the disease may die in winter.
If a rosy aphid appeared on the roses, which very "loves" these beautiful flowers, then it is necessary to start the fight with it urgently. The simplest way is to wash off the aphid with a stream of water and treat the plant with a mixture of liquid soap and alcohol.
