But the liquid itself is pushed by pistons in the cylinder. The element is quite reliable, but there is no need to exclude the risk of its breakage.   • Increased braking distance.

  • Special purpose key for brakes "for 10".

Getting Started

Replacement of the main brake cylinder on the VAZ-2110 is complicated by the fact that this mechanism is hidden behind the noise-proof upholstery of the engine compartment. After this, you can start already to replace the main brake cylinder VAZ 2110-th model. First, disconnect the plug with the wires on the cover of the plastic tank. This is a pointer of the emergency liquid level. Further loosen the nuts holding the brake pipes. There are only four of them. Then remove the GTZ from the studs. To do this, it is necessary to unscrew the fastening nuts completely. Be careful - at this time a liquid may escape from the cylinder. Therefore, immediately replace the holes with any container.

What do we do next? The next step is to drain the remaining liquid from the tank into a free tank. Then it can be safely removed outside.

Installing an item

Now, on the new cylinder, mount the tank with the bushings. If he did not go in the kit, you can take the old one. But it should be without cracks and other deformations. Then we take out the rubber sealing bushings from the old GTZ. There are two. If they are worn and have cracks, we take new ones from the repair kit of the main brake cylinder. We put the mechanism back to the "vacuum cleaner" and tighten the fixing nuts. Next, install under the bottom of an empty container and fill the tank with a new liquid. It is desirable not to mix different classes - buy the "Dot" 4-series. Next, you will need an assistant who on your team will click on the brake pedal in the cabin. At this time, you need to close all four holes for the tubes in the master cylinder with your fingers. Pressing should be done on the floor and very slowly. The procedure is repeated until the liquid flows from the holes. Then you can safely connect the pipes that go to the front wheels. After that, ask the assistant to press the pedal again. We make sure that the air from the holes for the rear wheels is fully exhausted.

After that, remove the fingers and twist the remaining tubes. This replaced the GTZ "tens" is almost complete. It remains only to top up the liquid in the tank to the desired level, connect the sensor and put the noise isolation cover in place.

Replacement of cuffs of the main brake cylinder on VAZ-2110

This operation is performed on the element removed from the car. It is desirable to use a mechanical vice. So we firmly clamp the part in place. So, let's get to work.

First remove the O-ring from the cylinder. Further, with a large head "for 38" unscrew the stopper GTZ. We take it out with a second O-ring. With the help of round-ears remove the stopper. We take out the piston, that we control the rear contour, taking hold of its tail. Removing should be carried out together with the guide sleeve and the outer cuff. To disassemble the latter, unscrew the spring retainer screw. Next we take out the piston of the front contour. To do this, push the thread side element with your finger. Remove with a thin screwdriver separating cuffs. All elements are washed in gasoline or alcohol. We put new cuffs in place and make the final assembly.

If the pedal has become soft after the operations, the air is likely to have formed in the system. It must be pumped. For this, alternately, we expel the air from the wheels according to the pattern "cross-wise" starting from the rear right.

Periodically you should top up the liquid in the tank. The essence of the pumping is to push the air through the pipes outwards. For the operation, you will also need an assistant who, by your command, will press the brake pedal. Repeat this is necessary until the hole is clean and free of bubbles. The procedure is done on each wheel. For a better control of the liquid, a transparent silicone hose is connected to the drain hole. The liquid itself is drained into a bottle.
