Remedies for ticks

Late spring and summer are a wonderful time for warmth and light. For outdoor recreation this time of the year is the most suitable. But this is also the time to activate bloodsucking insects, such as mosquitoes and mites. They are carriers of serious diseases. Bites of ticks are especially dangerous . Types of these bloodsucking insects vary in their habitats. Some of them do not attack a person at all, while in the absence of an ordinary source of "feed" they find another victim. These features are taken into account when making a remedy for ticks. The most dangerous are the insects of the family Ixodidae. It is these parasites that carry tick-borne encephalitis and borreliosis. Their habitat is located in the temperate zone of the European part of Russia and in Siberia.

Ways of protection

Remedies for ticks are divided into three groups:

- Repellents - scare off parasites.

- Acaricides (from the Greek word akari - mite and Latin caedo - kill) - drugs that destroy insects.

- Insecticidally-repellent substances drive away and eliminate bloodsuckers.

Repellents from mites

In any such drug includes a chemical component - diethyltoluamide. It perfectly repels insects and thus prevents the possibility of a bite. The most popular brands are repellents, such as Off, Reftamid Maximum, DEFI-Taiga, MEDILIS from mosquitoes, GALL-RET, Biban. The deterrent effect of the drug continues for several days. Repellent from ticks is applied to naked areas of the body and clothing of a person. To protect children from insects, softer preparations have been developed, such as Off-Child, MEDILISIC for children from mosquitoes, Biban-gel, Efkalat, Phthalar, Evital, cologne Pikhtal. Before applying repellent to the skin, it is recommended to test it on a small area of the body for an allergic reaction.

Acaricidal preparations paralyze insects

The active substances are alpha-methrin or alpha-cypermethrin. When the tick interacts with the drug, the insect suffers paralysis of the limbs. He falls from a man, never biting him. Unfortunately, these mites are exclusively distributed to the tissue. In no case should you treat these substances with clothing in public. The fabric is processed, dried, only then things can be worn. More than 30 acaricides are produced in our country. The most popular products are "Refatamide taiga", "Fumitox-anti-cellulite", "Gardex-anti-cell", "Picnic-Anti-cellulite", "Gardex aerosol extreme", "Tornado-anti-cell". The effectiveness of the active substance is maintained for 2 weeks.

Double action of insecticidally-repellent substances

They include alphametrin and diethyltoluamide, killing and repelling drugs. Insecticide-repellent agents against mites are sprayed only on clothes. The method of their application is the same as that of acaricidal drugs. The most popular products are the means "Mite-capet aerosol", "Medilis-comfort", "Mosquito-Spray", "Gardex Extreme" (aerosol from ticks).

All these preparations perfectly protect against bites of parasites and will help to avoid unpleasant sensations and dangerous diseases. The main thing is to remember, going to the forest, that it is necessary to dress so that on the body there are as few open skin areas as possible.
