Pulpit: a biological method of treatment. Description, stages and efficiency

The goal of the biological method of pulpitis treatment is to keep the pulp of the tooth alive.

Conditions for the implementation of this method of treatment

To leave a tooth "alive" it is possible only at observance of several conditions. The very first and most important condition is timely treatment. You should contact the dentist as soon as you notice the first pain. Pulpit, the biological method of treatment described in this article, must be treated based on the patient's age. Usually, the dentist can offer pulpitis treatment without removing the nerve to children, as well as individuals under the age of twenty-seven. This is due to the fact that at this age the pulp can still self-repair.

Please note that the pulpitis, the biological method of treatment described in this article, is very rarely treated by doctors using conservative methods of treatment, even with the age suitable for this patient. Most often, doctors simply do not want to treat patients with this method. In this case, be sure to ask the reason why the doctor does not want to do this. If she does not suit you, try to seek help from another clinic.

Is it worth to leave the tooth alive in the presence of disease pulpitis

The biological method of treating this disease implies the possibility of leaving the tooth alive. Pulp is a very important part of the tooth, performing protective and trophic functions. With its help, the tooth receives nutrients from the inside.

After the pulp dies, the teeth become more fragile. Moreover, besides this, when removing pulp, the dentist must also remove a large amount of tissue from the tooth itself.

In addition, when removing pulp, inflammation in the dental roots often occurs. This is due to poor-quality filling of the dental canal after its removal.

Therefore, if it is possible to leave the tooth alive, then it is best to do it. But, despite everything, it is possible to do this very rarely, because patients do not come with the initial stage of the disease. If pulpitis is treated with the first signs of it, then in this case conservative treatment gives very good results.

Very often patients come to the dentist already in the presence of purulent inflammation, when the pulp needs to be completely removed and blocked by the dental canals.

Pulpitis: a conservative method of treatment, indications

This method of treatment allows you to keep the pulp of the tooth alive in both the root canals and in the crown part of the tooth. Usually a conservative biological method for the treatment of pulpitis is carried out in two visits to the dentist.

Pay attention to such indications for the treatment of this disease:

- the patient's age is up to 25-27 years;

- the initial stage of inflammation, affecting a small area of the tooth;

- a chronic form of pulpitis in fibrous form, taking place without serious exacerbations and complications.

Treatment of pulpitis during the first visit to the dentist

If necessary, pain relief measures are made, all affected areas are caries removed. After this, the affected tooth is isolated from the saliva by means of a cofferdam. With the help of special medications, a medicinal cleaning of the tooth is performed and a healing pad is placed on the bottom of its cavity, containing a large amount of calcium. After this, an insulating gasket is made from special cement and a temporary seal.

What to do to the patient after the first visit to the doctor

Pulpit (the biological method of treatment described in this article) needs to be treated not only in the dental chair at a doctor's appointment, but also to implement its recommendations. Very often dentists recommend the treatment of pulpitis with the help of a laser or other means of physiotherapy. Such treatment is usually performed in several procedures, lasting from thirty seconds to two minutes.

Also, the patient is prescribed drugs that have an anti-inflammatory effect. The most commonly used is Ibuprofen.

Antibiotics should not be taken strongly. This is due to the fact that the cariogenic microflora is absolutely insensitive to them.

If the patient has no complaints, then the temporary seal should be replaced by a permanent one. If the patient has seen complications in the form of acute pulpitis or periodontitis, then in this case for the treatment of the tooth will have to apply the usual method: completely remove the pulp and seal the root canals.

Biological method of pulpitis treatment (stages): the second visit

If, between the first and second visits to the dentist, the patient has no complaints, the dentist will gently remove the temporary seal, isolating the tooth from the saliva, and then put a permanent seal.

After carrying out the procedure of sealing, it is recommended to make additional visits to the doctor to prevent concomitant diseases.

The biological method of treating pulpitis in children, as well as in adults, is carried out in two stages. Many parents think that it is not necessary to treat milk teeth, because soon they will fall out, and they will be replaced by permanent ones. However, this is an erroneous opinion. The kid, just like an adult, needs to regularly come to the dentistry for check-up. The biological method of treating pulpitis for children is appropriate only at the initial stage of the disease. When the form is started, other methods will be applied.

Vital amputation

This method of treating pulpitis can also be called biological, as it allows you to keep the pulp not in the whole tooth, but only in the root canals. In this case, the pulp is completely removed from the main part of the tooth.

This method of treatment can be used only for multi-rooted teeth. This is due to the fact that in teeth with one root there is no boundary between the upper and lower parts of the pulp. According to the scheme of treatment, this method practically does not differ from the previous one. The age of the patient played an important role in the treatment of pulpitis by the biological method. This method has the same age limits.

Pay attention to who does not fit the biological method of treatment:

- age over 27 years;

- acute purulent form of the disease;

- concrement form;

- a disease that has a gangrenous chronic form;

- Other severe forms of pulpitis.

Symptoms of pulpitis

Each dentist will be able to tell his patients what are the best tools for treating pulpitis. The disease itself can have two forms: acute and chronic. Each of them is characterized by different symptoms.

During the acute form of the disease, periodic severe pains can be observed, which do not depend on external stimuli. Most often, painful sensations appear at night. At first it happens very rarely. But over time they do not stop at all.

Symptoms in chronic pulpitis also depend on its variety. Usually, with a fibrous form of the disease, pain is not strong, it appears most often during meals. There are no reactions to temperature changes.

If the form is hypertrophic, the pain sensations can appear even at the slightest touch to the affected area of the tooth.

Pulpitis is a disease that needs to be treated immediately. If you ignore it, the consequences can be very deplorable. In medical practice, cases with a lethal outcome were observed. Therefore, take care of yourself, eat right and visit the dentist on time.
