Psychiatric care as an important aspect of health preservation

In the post-Soviet space, it is widely believed that psychiatric help is only needed for mentally ill people. With the real state of affairs, this has nothing to do. Mentally minded need psychiatric help, but it is not worth to refuse from it to many people who are completely healthy from a mental point of view. What will happen to a practically normal person, if at the right time he does not receive such support from specialists?

Even a completely mentally healthy person is exposed to stress. They are able to influence the most unpredictable way on the condition of people. In this case, such an impact can be both positive and negative. To foresee this, and even then only with a small degree of probability, only a specialist with the appropriate education and sufficient experience of practical work is capable. It is for this reason that if a person feels that he is unable to bear the consequences of too much stress on his own without any adverse changes in the psychic sphere, then he needs to consult a psychiatrist. Fortunately, for today psychiatric help at home is already available. Especially useful it can be for those people for whom it is very difficult to independently reach the hospital. If a person is in a really tough stressful situation, then he must independently consult a specialist, otherwise in the future the consequences of such a strong impact on the nervous system may simply be catastrophic.

What is psychiatric help?

Such support in each case is purely individual. The psychiatrist always tries to find out what was the provoking factor of the occurrence of any deviations. He is able to prevent the emergence of certain diseases in a healthy person who, against the background of stress, begins to develop a favorable environment for the formation of mental disorders in the near or distant future. In addition to clarifying the immediate causes of deviations, rational psychiatric care consists in breaking the so-called vicious circle, which ultimately leads to the formation of persistent violations. A psychiatric doctor tries not to let a person lock himself up on his problem. An experienced specialist after the first session is able to correct the situation.

Of course, it happens that a person needs urgent psychiatric help. Usually we are talking about really serious diseases. Timely treatment can be a real salvation, both for the patient himself and for his surroundings.

A very important aspect of the health of the population of Russia and the rest of the post-Soviet countries is the eradication of the view that psychiatric care is needed only for mentally ill people. This will make it easier for a person to withstand stress, not to be left alone with his problem, thereby only aggravating it.
