Prostration is not a disease

It happens that the level of vital energy falls, there is no desire to work, communicate, or watch for yourself. This state is called "prostration." This is a complete indifference to everything that is happening around. In this case, often there is a sense of guilt for your idleness.

Reasons for prostration

Such a state can arise if the body is overstrained on the soil of a prolonged strain of the neuromuscular system, especially the heart muscle. Prostration is a condition that can become a consequence of severe infectious diseases and appear when exhausted, due to starvation. In a person predisposed to the appearance of asthenic, inhibitory affective reactions (fear, anguish, shame), such a state can also arise.

The individual can be prostrated after experiencing a strong emotional shock. For example, after the loss of a loved one. This is a huge stress. After such an event, the meaning of later life is lost, full prostration may come. In this case, a person can not cope with what is happening, he will need the help of a qualified specialist.

How is prostration manifested?

This condition is akin to numbness. A person can not change his pose for several hours, look at one point and absolutely feel nothing. How to get out of this state?

And prostration is not an exception. The main cause of this condition is the extreme degree of physical and emotional overwork. Therefore, if there is such an opportunity, you need to sleep as much as you want.

  • In a state of prostration to do something for yourself, a person has no desire. Therefore, you need to force yourself to take care of someone from others. Doing something useful for others, a person changes his usual situation and simultaneously receives positive emotions.

  • Traveling, shopping, changing the image - all these are proven ways to get out of the lethargic state. However, just in this state, you do not want to change anything and do it. Therefore, you can try to force yourself to start small: change bed linens, rearrange pots with flowers, change the usual diet.

If this condition lasts longer than a week, you should contact a specialist. Do not self-medicate and prescribe any medications. This can only aggravate the situation.

Prevention

Of course, we are not able to influence many events of our life, and prostration is a phenomenon that can appear suddenly. However, observing certain rules, you can protect yourself from apathetic conditions. Include in your daily diet more fresh fruits and vegetables. Do not forget to pamper yourself with chocolate and other sweets, because they contain endorphins - hormones of joy. Spend time in the company of friends, attend fun activities, observe the mode of work and rest, walk in the fresh air.
