Brad - this is what? Signs and symptoms of the disorder

In modern psychiatry, delusions (synonyms: A deliberation of intellectual activity, delirium) is a complex of ideas or ideas that appeared as a result of developing brain disease as a symptom of a disturbance of thinking. They erroneously reflect reality and are not corrected by new incoming information, regardless of whether the available reasoning corresponds to realities or not. Most often, nonsense is one of the components of manifestations of schizophrenia or other mental disorders.

In what cases does the word "delirium" have synonyms - "mental disorder" and "insanity"

But in order to talk about the patient's mental disability, one can not build on the content of the idea that has taken him down. That is, if for others it looks like complete nonsense, this can not serve as evidence of a person's thinking disorder.

In a delirium, it is not the content that falls out of the generally accepted notions, but the violation of the course of human life associated with it. Delusional patient is removed from the world, uncommunicable, he is isolated in his conviction, which greatly changes his face and life values.

Features delusional ideas

Delusional belief does not lend itself to any correction from the outside. Unlike the delusions of a healthy person who firmly upholds his point of view, nonsense is some kind of unshakable idea that does not require real confirmation, since it exists independently of events that are actually occurring. Even the negative experience of following a delusional idea does not force the patient to abandon it, and sometimes even, on the contrary, strengthens the belief in its truth.

Since the crazy idea is always very closely welded to the previously emerged cardinal personality changes, it necessarily causes radical changes in the patient's attitude towards himself, the outside world, turning him into a "different person".

Bredom is often accompanied by the so-called syndrome of mental automatism or alienation syndrome, in which the patient feels that any of his actions or thoughts are not of his own free will, but are invested or cast from outside by outside force. In these cases, patients suffer from delusions of persecution.

Paranoid nonsense is the result of distrust of the environment

Paranoid delirium is formed from opposing oneself to the environment and mistrust of other people, transforming over time into extreme suspicion.

The patient at some point begins to understand that everyone around him is treated unfairly, infringing his interests, humiliating. Because of the inability of paranoid to interpret the actions and words of other people, this belief is multiplying into a paranoid syndrome.

In psychiatry it is divided into three types.

  1. Brad effect, in which the patient is convinced of the influence from outside on his behavior and thoughts.
  2. A nonsense relationship, when a person assumes that others say about him, laugh at him, look at him.
  3. Paranoid delirium. This condition is expressed in the patient's deep conviction that certain mysterious forces desire his death or otherwise harm him.

By the way, the last kind of thinking disorder in certain situations can easily be transferred to the patient's environment, which leads to an incident that is characterized as inducing, that is, borrowing the patient's beliefs healthy.

What is the induced delirium

In psychiatry, this phenomenon is called "induced delirium." This is an induced, borrowed belief that the patient takes over from his environment - those who are with him in closest contact and have not developed a critical attitude to the patient's pathological condition, since he is an authority in this group or he is trusted.

Inducement in such cases begins to express the same ideas and submit them in the same form as the patient-inductor. The person who induced delirium is, as a rule, an inspired person, who is subordinate or dependent on the source of the idea. Most often, but not always, the dominant face (inductor) is diagnosed with schizophrenia.

It should be noted that this disorder , as well as the initial delirium of an inducer, is a chronic condition, which in the plot is a delusion of grandeur, persecution, or religious delirium. The groups most affected by this influence are those that find themselves in cultural, linguistic or territorial isolation.

Under what conditions can you make a diagnosis

In order to correctly diagnose, it should be remembered that induced delirium is:

  • A state in which several people share the same delusional idea or a system built on it;
  • Support each other in this belief;
  • These people have a very close relationship;
  • Even passive members of this group are induced after contact with active partners.

With the termination of contact with the inductor, the grafted eyes thus often dissipate without a trace.

How does hypochondriac delirium occur?

In psychiatric practice, there is often another type of thinking disorder - hypochondriac delirium. This condition is characterized by a deep conviction of the patient in the presence of a severe incurable disease or shameful, one that does not lend itself to conventional therapy.

The fact that doctors can not find her, stricken by delirium, people perceive only as their incompetence or indifference. The data of tests and examinations for such patients are not proof, because they have a deep conviction in their own unique ailment. The patient is seeking more and more surveys.

If the hypochondriac delirium begins to expand, then the idea of persecution, which the doctors allegedly organized in relation to the patient, joins him. These symptoms are often added to the previously mentioned nonsense, which is supported by the belief that the disease is caused by a specially organized irradiation, which is why internal organs and even the brain are destroyed.

How does a hypochondriac delusion change?

Sometimes in patients with hypochondriac delirium, his shift to the idea of the opposite content arises - that the patient was always absolutely healthy or, more often than not, that he suddenly healed completely. As a rule, such nonsense is a consequence of a change in mood caused by the disappearance (usually shallow) of depression and the appearance of a hypomanic state.

That is, the patient was, as it was, and remained fixed on the topic of health, but now his delirium changes the vector and, becoming a delusional health, is sent to the healing of others.

By the way, many so-called traditional healers who disseminate personally invented cure methods from all ailments have a described category of thinking disorder. At best, such methods are simply harmless, but this is quite rare!

How nonsense becomes systematized

Interestingly, the delusional constructions in all these cases are interrelated, consistent and have some logical explanation. Such a disorder of thinking indicates that we have systematized delusions.

This disorder is most often observed in people who have a good level of intelligence. The structure of systematized delirium includes the material on which the idea is based, as well as the plot - the design of this idea. With the development of the disease, it can be stained, saturated with new details and even change the direction, as shown above.

By the way, the presence of systematized delirium always confirms its long existence, since the acute illness, as a rule, does not have a harmonious system.
