Long ago, Podolsk (Russia) was an ordinary village. And only by order of Catherine II, he gained the status of the city. Today it is a large settlement in the Moscow region, which is full of sights, unique monuments of architecture and old houses, reminiscent of the glorious past of this corner of the Russian land.

How to get to Podolsk by bus? Very simply - from the subway station "South" there are two buses. This journey will take from 65 to 72 minutes. Several flights run from Teply Stan station.

Well, the last option is a car. This is the longest way, and it sometimes takes almost two hours, but you can admire all the beauties of Moscow and its environs.

Ancient information

Podolsk, whose sights we will consider below, is located on the Pahre River. Previously, the shores of this reservoir were inhabited by the Baltic and Finno-Ugric tribes. Later, Vyatichi moved here.

The first mention of the local residents of Podol, who chose the territory of the present settlement, date back to 1627-1628. Then the main directions in the activity of the settlement were agriculture and trade.

When the postal camp opened in the village, Podol's economic development began. In 1781, Empress Catherine II appropriated him the status of the city, renamed Podolsk, and at the same time the construction of the wooden church of the Sign of the Blessed Virgin Mary started.

Today the city of Podolsk is included in the list of the largest cultural and economically important centers of the Moscow region. Its population is about 200 thousand people.

The masterpiece itself is a typewriter sewing a historical city map in the form of a carpet. The map itself shows images of Podolsk's sights. So, one can see the sculpture of the empress, the monument to the first trolleybus, various temples and other interesting objects. The height of the "Singer" reaches 3.5 meters.
