Plasticizer for the warm floor: what is it for?

With the use of these or those additives, you can get the necessary characteristics: high strength or low permeability, durability, increased resistance to frost, fast or slow set strength mixture, and so on. Thanks to these impurities, it is possible not only to make the properties of concrete in general better, but also to provide it with some specific characteristics that may be required in different situations. However, it is worth considering in more detail the plasticizer for the warm floor.

This additive has proven itself, it has a stable composition and precise action, allows you to adjust the properties of concrete in a very wide range. The plasticizer for the warm floor provides a fast and very dynamic set of strength. Thanks to the active use of such additives, it is possible not only to achieve a significant increase in strength, but also to enhance water resistance through water-reducing action.

If you need to increase the spreadability and mobility of building mixtures intended for screeding of warm floors, then it is necessary to use a plasticizer, since for this purpose ordinary concrete is not suitable. First of all, this additive will increase the compressive strength , and also increase the elasticity of the screed. If you do not use a plasticizer for screeding a warm floor, then its layer above the pipes will exceed 50 millimeters, and it is permissible that it be 30 mm. When using this mixture, it is possible to make a solution of the following composition: half a ton of sand; Half a centner of water; Centner of M400 cement; 7.7 liters of plasticizer.

The main effect of this additive is as follows:

- the solubility of cement clinker is increased;

- the additive interacts with cement particles, pushing them away, that is, making the mixture more plastic;

- the mixture becomes denser, while the number of air pores and water decreases;

- the formation of complex compounds with cement minerals allows to accelerate hardening, as well as increase the strength of cement;

- on the cement particles, a waterproof layer forms, which leads to an increase in resistance to various aggressive influences.

The plasticizer for the warm floor, the price of which ranges from 250 rubles per liter, is used quite extensively, not limited only to the insulation of the floors. It can also be used for floor slabs, self-leveling floors, industrial floors. The average time for complete hardening will be 25-30 days. Keep plasticizer for the warm floor is necessary at positive temperatures, from time to time mixing, if the storage period is very large. Addition to the solution should be carried out in compliance with the simplest rules of safety, trying to protect the hands and face.
