New "Kia Sorento": technical specifications and not only
Last spring, the Korean concern KIA presented its new crossover called Kia Sorento to the public. The technical characteristics and design of the car have been updated a little, and already in 2013 it can be purchased at any dealer store in Russia for a price acceptable for an imported SUV. However, we will not rush things, but we'll sort everything out in order.
To distinguish the new "Kia Sorento" from its predecessor, presented 3 years ago, is not so easy. Externally, the novelty is very similar to the model of the previous generation, but still new details are present. Korean designers basically changed the appearance of lighting equipment, which is reflected in the new fog lamps vertical form front, as well as in the updated brake lights. In the body structure, almost nothing has changed, only the tailgate's tailgate changed shape a little. On the other hand, the novelty does not have any distinctive details at all.

As for the interior, Korean developers also did not make much effort here. To finish the cabin, they simply used new, nice to touch materials, which incidentally slightly modernized the car. And, perhaps, the most significant change brought by engineers is the increase in the cabin space: now passengers of the second row of seats have added three centimeters of free space in the knee area.
In a new generation of crossovers, engineers updated the engine line, and now the car will be delivered to the Russian market in two variations. The features of each engine, we now consider.
The first gasoline unit has a capacity of 175 horsepower and a working capacity of 2.4 liters. This modernized engine can be equipped with two gearboxes - a six-speed "mechanics" or "automatic" in the same number of stages.
The diesel engine has a power of 197 horsepower with a working volume of 2.4 liters. It works in tandem with two six-speed gearboxes of the "automatic" and "mechanic" type.

In terms of fuel consumption, the novelty has quite acceptable indicators. For 100 kilometers of mileage, the car spends just 5.9 (6.7 with a gasoline engine) liters of fuel.

In the petrol package, the novelty can have both front and all wheel drive. In the diesel version, the buyer can only buy an all-wheel drive car.
The initial price for a new Korean crossover in the "Classic" kit starts from the mark of 1 million 70 thousand rubles. For this cost, the buyer can purchase a front-wheel-drive jeep with a gasoline engine and a manual transmission. "Kia Sorento" 2013, the equipment "Prestige", will cost customers 1 million 659 thousand rubles. It includes automatic transmission, diesel engine and a lot of electronic comfort systems.
