How to install a watering system in the country?

In practice, gardeners instead of resting in the garden have to work hard - watering plants. Therefore, sooner or later, each horticulturist thinks about how to install a watering system at the dacha and make his life easier. Which suitable scheme to choose? What factors should be taken into account? The article will tell about this.

What you need to consider when planning the irrigation system

The most important agricultural technique, which affects the yield and appearance of growing crops in the country, is the watering of plants. There are a lot of ways to "get them drunk". This series begins with a banal watering can, the use of which involves hard manual labor, and ends with automated, PC-controlled irrigation systems.

Organizing a dacha irrigation system competently is a whole art. After all, each plant requires appropriate care. One needs a lot of moisture, another - a little less, and the third is better not to water at all. Do not overlook the factors such as the proximity of the reservoir or well to the site, the type of soil, whether the surface of the garden is flat or is located under a slope. Another gardener should really appreciate his strength. It would be superfluous to think about the water and electricity consumption in planning the irrigation system.

What are the types of irrigation systems

Once the only watering method was a conventional watering can. But progress does not stand still, and today the market offers a wide range of various garden tools. These are sprinklers and sprayers, a lot of hoses with different characteristics, sprinklers. All of them are used by gardeners to facilitate their work during the summer season.

But you can not rush with the purchase of inventory. Before buying various tools and components for irrigation, you need to understand what kind of installation at the cottage irrigation system will be optimal. For example, there is a surface system and sprinkling. With such types of irrigation, the garden is irrigated completely, which means that a lot of water is used, which is not always beneficial for the summer resident. There is a more advantageous method - drip irrigation.

Drip irrigation system

The system of drip irrigation in the country is the most economical way in terms of water consumption. It is fed gradually through the droppers directly to the plant. This process is continuous, which allows the garden crops to feed on moisture without interruption and in the right amount. This method of irrigation is used in those cases when it is not necessary to water the entire area. For example, a drop type is suitable for a garden with fruit trees and bushes.

If a drip irrigation system is to be installed in the country, the irrigation scheme will not be difficult. Drip tapes with holes are attached to the pipe, which goes along the edge of the ridge. The pipe, in turn, leads to a container with a water supply.

Along with standard equipment, gravel and mesh filters are used in the drop system. They are necessary for filtration of water supplied to the system. If the filters are not installed, then the risk of clogging is high, which can lead to the failure of the entire system.

In addition to significant water savings, the merits of this method of irrigation can be attributed to the cheapness of the system components. The approximate cost of such a drip unit will be from 1500 rubles (for 1.5-2 hundred parts of the garden).

What is an automatic irrigation system

Automatic irrigation system in the country is a complex technical design, which includes hundreds of different elements. The basis of the automatic system is the control panel, coupled with the computer. Inside it, irrigation programs are stored. Various sensors, sprinklers, solenoid valves - all these elements of the system are controlled by the remote control. Such a system not only relieves physical labor, but also allows you to not monitor the weather forecast.

Automatic watering system in the country (photo below) is also divided into drip and sprinkler. The latter is more common among truck farmers. Because, for example, a huge potato field is better equipped with sprinkling, rather than mounting drip irrigation on it.

Organization of automatic irrigation

Any automatic irrigation system consists of watering heads (sprinklers), a storage tank (not in all cases), a pump, electric valves and a controller. To organize a watering system at the dacha, the main thing is to ensure a good water pressure, and it is also important to control the sufficiency of its volume.

To ensure the normal operation of the automatic system, water reservoirs close to the land, centralized water supply or wells are being used as water storage (an autonomous water supply device is being introduced).

Automatic irrigation system will not work without a pump. When selecting it, you need to pay attention to the frequency adjustment of the engine and the possibility of a smooth start. The presence of these parameters will ensure the durability of the equipment. In most cases, a well is used as a source of water. In this case, it is necessary to take a surface water-lifting station on the basis of a self-priming pump.

What to choose

Initially, before choosing an irrigation system, it is necessary to study the site. You also need to decide what will grow on the ground. If you want to grow just a beautiful lawn or plant all the space potatoes, then the choice should be stopped on the method of sprinkling. If there are trees and shrubs as plantations, then it is better to choose a drip irrigation method.

Next, you need to assess your financial capabilities. The fact is that the automatic system is much more convenient, but tens of times more expensive. Therefore, it is necessary to determine whether the first option will be available or it will be necessary to manage a budget analogue.
