Grilled chicken is one of the most common dishes in the world. It can be purchased in almost every city in specialized kiosks and stores. At the same time, consumers have little confidence in such products, since they often use poor-quality products when harvesting. That is why the question arises as to how to cook a grilled chicken in the oven.

Equipment

First of all, it should be noted that for the preparation of this dish, special equipment is usually used. It assumes the presence of a special spit on which the bird should be roasted. In the conventional gas cooker, the said device is absent. However, in stores you can find models that allow you to prepare a dish like a chicken on a grill, in the oven on a spit, because they have not only a mechanism for turning the skewer, but also specific heating with the help of electrical elements.

If such a device is not available, but you really want to make a dish, then you can use a special grill, on which you put meat, and put a baking tray under it to collect fat. Naturally, the grilled chicken on the spit will be roasted better, but this method, in principle, is no worse.

Ingredients

For preparation it is required:

  • Whole chicken - 1 piece;
  • pepper;
  • salt;
  • curry;
  • mayonnaise.

Preparation and pickling

First, you need to carefully process the bird on an open fire to remove the remnants of feathers. Then the carcass was washed and dried with paper towels. To grill chicken in the oven (on a spit) turned out juicy and had an original taste, it must be properly marinated.

To do this, the bird is carefully rubbed with salt, then left for 0.5 hours. At the same time, some cooks prefer to make a few carcases and punctures on the carcass, which will contain spices. Next, the meat is rubbed with pepper and also left for 30 minutes.

At the end of the period, mayonnaise is mixed with curry and they well lubricate the bird. Do this not only from the outside, but also from the inside. It is with this marinade that the grilled chicken in the oven on the spit turns juicy, fragrant, and well baked.

Baking

After rubbing mayonnaise with curry should pass half an hour. Then the bird is put on a spit and placed in the oven. If this device is missing, then use a grate. It should be noted that the temperature in the chamber should be equal to 180 degrees.

To the chicken on the grill (in the oven, on the spit) did not turn dry, it must periodically be watered with fat, which accumulates on the bottom baking tray. If the grid is used, then at some point you can turn the bird over. The average cooking time of this dish is forty minutes, but when opening the oven, you can check the readiness by piercing the carcass in the areas of the tendons. If at the same time blood does not drain from the hole, the bird is considered ready, although for greater certainty the fire is simply turned off, leaving the carcass "to reach" due to the collected heat. In this case, it is not recommended to restrain the chicken in the oven, otherwise it can become dry.
