The psychological characteristics of the student is one of the most necessary documents that is used in the work not only of the school psychologist, but also the teachers working in the classroom and the class teacher. She has several functions. Firstly, with the help of the characteristics it is possible to compile an in-depth psychological portrait of the schoolboy. Secondly, it will help new teachers to become more familiar with the student, take into account the peculiarities of his character in working with him. This document can also help to work more closely with the student's family, as a result of which it is possible to achieve more effective results in the upbringing and development of the child.

A single form, which is used to compile a psychological characteristic, is not available today. Therefore, most often it is enough for the psychologist to follow the general recommendations for writing it, if the educational institution does not provide for any other registration.

The main requirements for this document are as follows. Most of the text should describe the individual characteristics of the child, which can manifest themselves not only in school-wide, but also in extra-curricular activities. At the same time it is desirable that there is no unnecessary information here. It is better to preserve the scientific language of the document, since the prevalence of special terms in it can complicate the perception of information.

In order to study the student, the specialist must be well prepared. This means that he is obliged to select the necessary tests aimed at the studied personality traits.

In addition to general information about the child, it is necessary to indicate data about his family (composition, social status, style of upbringing) and health status. For this, the psychologist needs to establish contact with the doctor of the educational institution, as well as the parents of the student. The following describes the observations of the class teacher about the student.

The psychological characteristics of the student contain information about his general development, interests and inclinations. The document can be divided into several sections, each of which will start with a new paragraph, which specifies the features of the cognitive processes of the student. For example:

- attention: arbitrary, poorly developed, the child quickly becomes tired;

- verbal intelligence: dialogical speech is poorly developed, a limited common horizon.

Psychological characteristics should contain information about such individual characteristics as the nature of the child's activity, learning ability, communication with adults and peers, etc. It is possible to indicate how the student treats criticism in his address: hostile, indifferent, benevolent.

This document describes the general characteristics of the classroom, as well as the place of the student in it. It is also worth noting which moral values and beliefs the student has, that is, his ideas of friendship and decency, honor and conscience.

The psychological characteristics of the class should contain approximately the same information, only generalized, concerning the entire collective.

So, it is necessary to specify not only the numerical composition, but also what nationalities the children are studying (ethnic traditions can influence the outlook and values of schoolchildren). In addition, sociometric characteristics of the team are described, among them cohesion, the number of "stars", "isolated", etc. Also in the document it is possible to display the types of temperament that are available in the classroom, and in what they are the ratio. The last point is important, as it will help teachers to take into account the pace of training activities and the personal qualities of students.

At the end of the document, it is necessary to write conclusions and recommendations for teachers working with these children or one child, based on psychological research and individual characteristics of schoolchildren.
