How can I change the service life in the army?

The army is a severe test of character for every man. It is there that a person faces his fears and fears, strengths and weaknesses. And at the same time the service life is long enough to see all its shortcomings.

Contract service

Each serviceman has a choice about whether to link life with the armed forces or to forget about the army immediately after the expiration of the service. For some, the contract system seems quite attractive. It enables the soldier to continue working in the structure where he served. In addition, the transition to this type of work is possible after half a year of staying in the walls of the military unit as conscript draftee.

The transition to a contractual system can lead to both a reduction and an increase in the service life. The danger lies in the fact that special demands are imposed on such a soldier, violating which he can return to the ranks of conscripts. Such requirements include strict observance of discipline, prohibition of alcohol and obscene behavior, prevention of fights and violations of public order. Any deviation from the established norms and rules will lead to the fact that the soldier will have to wait for the time he wanted to save.

On the other hand, when moving to a contractual basis, a contract is concluded, according to which the mandatory service life is two years. This contract can be changed only in the event of disciplinary offenses or the serviceman's own desire to return to the ranks of conscripts.

Disciplinary offenses

The increase in the length of service in the army also entails disciplinary punishment and stay at the gaupwatch. The charter of the armed forces stipulates that the maximum period of detention of a soldier there must not exceed ten days. The time that a serviceman will spend there is not included in the service life.

The offenses for which a soldier is punished in this manner may be very different. Often this depends on those chiefs who, according to the disciplinary regulations, are entitled to arrest soldiers and sergeants at their discretion.

Disciplinary Battalion

For misdemeanors, which entail criminal responsibility, the servicemen are sent to a disciplinary battalion. It is a military unit created to keep soldiers and sergeants brought to justice by a military court. Staying in a disciplinary battalion is not included in the service life. After the serving of the sentence, the servicemen are sent to the regular army. The term of stay in the disciplinary battalion is three years. Currently, servicemen can be amnestied and released ahead of schedule.

Thus, the service life in many respects depends on the soldier himself. His behavior and attitude to the service and the bosses can both reduce and prolong the stay in the walls of the barracks. For this reason, you need to think carefully about your words and actions.
