"Honda Civic Ferio": specifications and description of models of three generations of Japanese sedan

Honda Civic Ferio is a Japanese comfortable sedan that was very popular not only at home, but also on the territory of Russia and Europe, although this car was not delivered there. Many people brought it from Japan. After all, this is really a good sedan with an original design, modern features and proven quality.

First generation

The earliest models of the Honda Civic Ferio were produced in 1991. In general, the first generation existed until 1995. The model was very popular and in demand. Which is not surprising, since the 3-door hatchback, which was a predecessor, then ceased to be relevant. By the way, it was known as Honda Civic.

The novelty with the prefix "Ferio" became the sedan, which was so necessary to everyone. Its main features are excellent dynamic characteristics, spacious and comfortable interior, as well as excellent handling. But most of all potential buyers were pleased with the isolated baggage compartment. This "Honda Civic Ferio" was different from the hatchback, where passengers shared their space with things.

The best model

Especially popular was the Honda Civic Ferio in the top modification. Under its hood was installed a 4-cylinder 1.6-liter engine, equipped with a PGM-FI injection system. The power of this unit was 170 horsepower. True, this is the case if it was equipped with "mechanics". With automatic transmission power was less - about 155 hp.

Another feature of the car was its independent lever suspension. Thanks to her and improved steering, many called this car a front-wheel drive sports car. This, of course, is a loud statement, but its performance engine "Honda Civic Ferio" really impressed.

But there were also four-wheel drive versions. Their name was abbreviated RT. She pointed to the presence of a proprietary all-wheel drive system from Honda, which was known as Real Time 4WD. And these models were also offered with both "mechanics" and "automatic".

Options

In addition to the above model, potential buyers could buy cars with other engines under the hood, for example, a 1.5-liter 100-horsepower engine with FF drive (both with "mechanics" and with "automatic"). The model with this engine was offered in the modification of MX Limited. The car had a rack and pinion steering with an amplifier, a 2-link suspension in the front and a double wishbones at the rear, as well as disc ventilated brakes.

The car was equipped with air conditioning, electric windows, CZ, vertical adjustment of the steering wheel, hatch and navigator (for an additional fee), as well as a radio-player.

Still there were cars with the engine capacity of 85 horsepowers (1.3 l), on 91 and 94 hp. Also offered were motors with a power of 105, 130, 150, 155 hp. But the strongest version was the above-mentioned model with a 170-horsepower engine.

Issue 1995-2000

It was during this time period that the group produced the Honda Civic Ferio EK3 model, that is, the second-generation model. Potential buyers were offered the same choice. A little changed the line of engines, motors for 85 and 94 hp. Disappeared. But there was a 120-strong 1.6-liter unit, which could operate under the control of a 5-speed "mechanics" or a 4-speed "automatic".

Another novelty received new equipment. In addition to everything that was before, steel alloy wheels and ultraviolet coatings were installed on the glass, and a CD player appeared.

Explicit changes were noticeable in appearance. The design has become more aggressive and dynamic. Distinctive features of "Ferio EK3" were extended headlights, which even went a bit on the hood, understated landing and wide wheel arches. Modifications known as Si were particularly attractive. Their designers very favorably decorated with aerodynamic elements, even a spoiler appeared. And the drives were not installed 14, but 15-inch. Naturally, they were light-alloy. Versions of Si were known as "hot" models, they were really bought up very quickly.

Last years of release

From 2000 to 2005, the third generation came out - the Honda Civic Ferio ES1 / 2/3 and ET-2. There were 115-strong 1.5-liter petrol engines. There were no more motors than 105 hp, only the most powerful ones remained.

The exterior has changed again, only, as the fans of the concern assured, not for the better. The model lost its Japanese flavor. The car began to look like in Europe. Designers significantly shortened the front end, also reduced the slope of the hood. The front optics are made narrower. Disappeared those attractive dynamic lines that added originality. In general, "Ferio" became an ordinary classic sedan. True, there was one small plus. And he was in a more spacious and comfortable cabin. And in the basic complete sets after 2000 there was an electric drive of glasses, mirrors and manholes (which also began to be offered in the base), airbags and climate control instead of air conditioning.

Cost

This is exactly the Japanese model of the Honda Civic Ferio D15B, which in Russia can easily be found on sale by ads.
