But the result is worth the effort. First of all, it is necessary to determine which particular pump is suitable for the carburettor and the power supply system. Also, various consumables will be needed for installation.

Necessary materials

In order to install an electric pump, you will need a hose. Its length should be at least 5 meters, and the inner diameter - about 8-9 mm. Also, a remote low-pressure gasoline pump and a relay to it are purchased. From tools it is necessary to find a drill with a diameter of 3-4 mm. Additionally, a filter is purchased from the engine's injector system, as well as a carburetor filter. Still need a tube of steel with a wall thickness of 0.8 millimeters and a diameter of 7 millimeters. The length of the pipe must be at least 250 mm. Also, a 12 mm hose and a plug connection for the plug from 8 to 12 mm are required.

Installation work

First, remove the fuel level sensor - it is in the tank. A hole is drilled in the lid and a 7 mm tube is soldered to the soldering iron. The end of this tube must be bent - this is to ensure that the return line is draining. The bend should be such that one end of the tube is at a greater distance than the fuel sampling pipe. The upper part also bends to parallel with the fuel intake opening. Next, a modern fuel level sensor is mounted. It should be noted that it has both a fence and a return line. It is installed in the tank. It is important to know: the rubber tube must be connected by a "return" connection from the fuel system. Then the end of the prepared hose is connected to the fuel inlet. Then the elements are fixed to the metal pipe with the help of clamps. The low-pressure electric pump itself is installed horizontally to the motor board through a special bracket through rubber cushions. They are included with the device. It is very important to set the device to the correct position, at which the suction will occur from the side of the expansion tank, and the flow head is directed towards the motor. Then a filter from the injector is attached to the fuel supply hose.

On the second fitting put a tube with a diameter of 5 mm. It is fixed with clamps on the body in an upright position. It is necessary that the combustible mixture is fed correctly, that is, from the bottom up. The pump is connected to the tank using a 12 mm hose and an adapter. Then it is worth to do high pressure. In the carburetor it is not necessary. To lower it, remove the lid from the pump, unscrew the feed pipe and take out the mesh. In the return pipe connection, drill a hole up to 3 mm. Then it remains only to connect the electric fuel pump to the carburetor using an ordinary fuel filter. It's easy to do. Only clamps and a hose are necessary. Connect the device to the 12-volt contact on the ignition coil via a relay.

Pros of an electric gasoline pump with a carburetor

There are many reasons why an electric petrol pump is installed on the carburetor. One of the major advantages is how the engine starts. Now the motor will start quickly, almost instantly. The pump starts immediately, as soon as the driver turns the key in the ignition switch. Significantly reduced noise activity. The electric pump is practically noisy.
