History of Honda Integra

For the first time in public, the Honda Integra model debuted in 1985. The car was available to buyers in two body styles - a coupe and a sedan. In the American market the car was sold under the brand name "Akura". Four years later, the Japanese manufacturer introduced an updated version of the car, the release of which was carried out until 1993. The engine of Honda Integra of the second generation became the first in the history of the atmospheric motor, the specific capacity of which was 100 "horses" for each liter of working volume. It should be noted that for the series, three variations of the power plant were developed. As for the box, there was a choice of either a four-stage automaton or a five-step mechanic. In general, the modification could be described as a reliable and unpretentious car.

In 1993, the following third generation Honda Integra was launched on the production line. Technical characteristics of the novelty did not differ from the predecessor. The main emphasis in the car was made on the appearance, which became more "swift" due to the pointed front part. After two years of sales in Europe, the Japanese gave the car to the Akura range, which was sold overseas. In 1997, the serial production of a sports coupe was launched. To the name of the modification was added prefix Type R.

In 2001, during the exhibition in Detroit, Honda introduced an updated version of the car. The first thing that caught the eye in the "Honda Integra" fourth generation - is the widespread use of aluminum in the finish of the body. The car in its appearance was also distinguished by its dynamism and aggressiveness. Under his hood was a two-liter engine that was able to develop 160 horsepower. For the sports variation, the manufacturer has envisaged a 220-power unit.

The next update of the car touched the sports modification of Type R and happened in 2004. The new "Honda Integra" has become significantly wider. In all other respects, the style remained the same. Changes occurred in the color palette of cars: it was replenished with a velvet blue color. The increase in the width of the body entailed the need for a new suspension. Moreover, the designers decided to insignificantly raise the steering column. Excellent dynamics of the car once again stressed a completely new bumper. As for the interior of the car, here were added some stylish elements. Among them, aluminum inserts on the pedals, as well as the original knob on the shift lever, made of steel. Quite an interesting solution was also the installation of larger measuring instruments.

"Honda Integra" had one more modification, to the name of which the symbols iS were added. The machine differed from the Type R described above only by some small trim elements, which should emphasize sportiness. For example, the steering wheel cover is made with natural leather. The power of the motor in this variation was 160 horsepower. In connection with the fact that the manufacturer here made the main emphasis on the operation of the drives, the designers replaced the "stuffing" in the steering and equipped the auto with a mechanical box for five steps. Due to the use of wheels with a size of 17 inches, the body rose slightly.

Whatever it was, Honda Integra became a car in which it was possible to combine dynamism, excellent handling and external aggressiveness.
