From whom the man happened: facts and speculations

There are no riddles in this world more fascinating and complex than the question of who the person came from. Passions about this problem have been boiling for more than one century. Since in the life of our ancestors the central role was played by religion, for a long time the only version was the divine origin of man. In those years, scientists did not dare to publicly protest against this statement, because it was easy for them to get on the fire.

Years passed, the role of the Church in the daily life of people gradually decreased. There were new theories, the authors of which tried to explain where the man came from. However, most of the original theories somehow "rotated" around the divine origin of the intelligent man. Scientists assumed that it could come from some ancient progenitors, giants and even people who once lived in mythical Atlantis.

The problem was that none of the authors could provide any proof of their version of the origin of people. In a word, the question of who caused the man remained a mystery for seven seals for many decades.

So it was until Charles Darwin did his famous sailing on the ship "Beagle". During his entire journey, he collected herbariums and a collection of animals and insects that he met on his way. In the end, he began to notice amazing patterns in the appearance and structure of various organisms. It was then that a famous work appeared dedicated to the beaks of the finches that inhabit the Galapagos Islands. Darwin noticed continuity, which helped to explain to him from whom the man occurred.

The scientist noticed that the appearance of the beak of birds changed depending on environmental conditions and nutritional conditions. Darwin suggested that the beak could change as a result of a long-term process, which he called evolution (gradual change). From the very beginning, the theory had a lot of opponents, but only the evolutionary theory could clearly explain from whom the man originated. The scientist claimed that our ancestors were ... monkeys! However, it was this revolutionary statement that was perceived extremely hostile not only by the supporters of the Church, but also by scientists.

However, with the passage of time and the development of paleontology, more evidence has begun to appear in the form of petrified remains. Studying them, many scientists began to be imbued with ideas of Darwinism. Especially since the works of Lamarck and other naturalists who worked on the creation of the classification of animals fit perfectly into Darwin's theory .

The scientists of that time were perplexed by the "gradualness" of the kingdoms of the animal kingdom, since they did not know where to put the person: by all indications it was like the higher primates, but in those years it could not be attributed to the "relatives" of the monkeys. The appearance of the Darwinian theory perfectly explained all these ambiguities and saved biologists from the need to take a person into a separate kingdom, as required by creationists.

Thus, the question of what caused the man was no longer standing. The theory of Darwin began to be introduced in schools, and almost all scientists agreed with its main provisions. Of course, like most assumptions, this famous theory has its drawbacks. However, it should be emphasized once again that only the teaching of Darwin can explain the origin of the diversity of species that exist on our planet today.
