EO-2621 - universal excavator-bulldozer

The EO-2621 excavator is a logical continuation of the E-153, E-1514, E-2515 series. First released in 1955 in Kiev (E-153), with significant and not very updates, is used in construction and loading and unloading works to this day.

The basic version has a backhoe bucket, and in front the bucket of the bulldozer used, in addition to the main work (backfilling of trenches, cleaning snow and the like), also to counterbalance the main working body - the ladle. The popularity of this unit is due to the fact that the main working unit has a fairly wide range of applications, and in addition, there is the possibility of replacement. If the bulldozer is a permanent equipment, the bucket can be rotated 180 degrees (get a straight shovel), and also replace it with other installations, the choice of which is quite wide.

The device of the main working body

Based on the tractor UMZ EO-2621 received a "binding" frame, and on a separate frame - a bulldozer. At the rear of this frame there is a rotary column on the chain drive and support shoes lowered to the ground for added stability when the main working body is operating. In the factory supply the working body is an arrow, a handle and a bucket.

The connection between the parts is articulated, the control is performed by hydraulic cylinders, the first hydraulic cylinder being attached directly to the swivel part of the column by means of hinges. The column is welded-cast, consists of two parts, one part can rotate by means of bearings with respect to the other part fixed to the main part of the frame. In addition to the master cylinder, the boom has a special block at the bottom, fixing the inclination of all excavating equipment in the transport position. By means of a chain mechanism and two hydraulic cylinders of the column, the working equipment has the ability to turn around the vertical axis by 160 degrees.

Hydraulics

The hydraulic system EO-2621 consists of two separate hydraulic drives having a common tank. Of these, one manages an arrow, a hilt and a bucket. In the second function, the support work is included (in the released position they can lift the tractor a half meter above the parking level), and a rotary column system. Also through the hydraulic distributors, the second drive is responsible for the movement of the bulldozer bucket.

Additional functions

In addition to the basic functions, the excavator-bulldozer in the specifications has two additional, but the real range of possibilities is much wider. The bulldozer part is present at any work, and the rear part can vary. It should be noted that the bucket can be turned 180 degrees - with this position the bucket is rigidly fixed to the handle by additional rods, and the hydraulic cylinders of the handle are interlocked to the lower bracket. The bucket hydraulics control its opening for unloading.

In addition, the EO-2621 excavator can be equipped with crane or grab equipment. It is also possible to put a bucket of increased volume or replace it with forks. Separately we will mention that the system of the main unit allows using a wide range of devices not listed in the main documentation.

Examples of using

The use of a backhoe bucket in the basic version involves digging small pits, shallow pits or canals, as well as trenches for underground communications.

The straight shovel option is suitable for operation when the surface is located above the parking level of the machine. The same bucket can be loaded with loose or finely lump weights.

Grapple can be used for cleaning pits, channels, or for digging wells. This "bucket" is well suited for the capture and loading of various materials.

There is in the arsenal of EO-2621 and a special loading bucket. The range of work of this option is not much different from the base one, except that the bucket's sides are straight.

Interestingly, each of the above options has teeth for opening the asphalt or the top layer of the soil, but despite this, among the interchangeable working units there is a disintegrating tooth and even a hydraulic hammer, which is used precisely to destroy the upper soil layer. Which of them is better - the buyers decide, and we note that the tooth allows us to develop a frozen soil up to 300 mm deep. At the same time, a hydraulic hammer equipped with a tamping plate can be used not only for destruction, as follows from the name, thus it is possible to prepare a lower layer, for example, for laying tiles.

Motor and running characteristics

Characteristics of EO-2621 in most parts repeats the tractor, which, in fact, it is. So, he has tractor wheels - front, rear, cabin height, also not much changed. Although due to the location of the main working unit from the rear, the driver's seat was able to turn 180 degrees, facing the levers of the excavator. So, the width of the wheel track is 1460 mm on the front, 1550 on the rear, the width of the frame from the bulldozer block will add to the track for about half a meter. But with the length of the base turned out interesting. The height on the roof of the driver's cab is 2450 mm, the length of the base is also 2450. The clearance is 450 mm.

Unlike other cars belonging to the class "Special Vehicles", there is no special speed of movement or any other exceptional opportunities. The maximum speed of movement is only 19 km / h, the engine power is 45 kW. For convenience of use, the fuel tank is located on the side and has a vertical layout.

Due to a small own speed, sometimes the tractor is towed - the loop on the "shovel" of the bulldozer is not included in the specification, but it is suitable for towing.

Interesting features

The strapping frame is a compulsory measure, since neither the designers of Balarusi nor the designers of YMZ planned to use the tractor to operate in such modes. The frame adds stability when working, distributing the load.

As with the back and forward spades, EO-2621 uses one bucket, which can be deployed directly on the site. The bucket is put on the ground, detached, turned over and fixed again. Then you need to shift the hydraulic cylinders into the other brackets on the bucket handle. For work it is desirable to have an assistant, and the entire replacement takes less than half an hour.

An interesting possibility, which deserves a separate mention, is the hook suspension. And although this is not a lifting crane, work with a small load is entirely within the power of EO-2621. Reviews of users called figures of the order of a half-ton.

Reviews

Most firms involved in the sale of construction equipment, recommend the import machine, and very rarely where you will find mention of EO-2621. Reviews on it, too, are not frequent. But if you put some imported SAT and domestic EO-2621 next to it ... The domestic price will be three times cheaper, and the possibilities are several orders of magnitude greater. If we talk in figures - SAT will cost about several million rubles. The price of EO-2621 rarely rises above a million.

Conclusion

The excavator EO-2621 is rightly called universal. Some features of the backhoe bucket, included in the basic kit, allow the machine to be used in several variants. And any modification of the working element adds a few more to the basic capabilities. If we take into account that there are more than one dozen replaceable working tools, the total number of options for using the excavator is significantly increased. In short, it can be called a universal soldier, which can be used with equal success both in the city and outside, both at construction sites and at communal facilities.
