Electromotor for a boat with own hands

Probably everyone who lives in the countryside or comes there to rest for the summer, has a boat or dreams about it. This is understandable, because pastime on the water is the most desired and most beautiful holiday.

Rowing on a boat is an excellent sport, as it allows to strengthen the muscles of the hands and back. Another thing is that sitting on oars, it is difficult to pay attention to all the beauties of nature, especially if the rower is inexperienced. And it is unlikely to catch a fish - only if you anchor.

Not to mention the fact that elderly people or those who have health problems will get tired very quickly and will not be able to swim far.

But this does not mean that you need to give up walks on the river or always take along a partner to facilitate movement. You can install an electric motor for the boat and then all you need to do is to control your boat on turns.

Here, many may argue that not everyone can afford the purchase of an electric motor. Even the electromotor "Poltava" (far from being the most powerful and heaped up) is quite expensive.

But who said that you absolutely need to buy it? Electromotor for the boat can be done on its own, it's not so difficult. The main thing is to be able to use welding, have free time, a little patience and all the necessary details.

In order to weld a self-made boat electric motor, the following elements are required:

1. Battery (6 or 12-volt).

2. The corresponding electric motor.

3. The steering column.

4. A screw with which the boat will move.

5. Clamp for securing the mechanism.

The motor assembled from these elements is suspended. It should be noted that the electric motor must be hermetically packed in a special casing, since in case of contact with water it can fail.

Now about how to assemble an electric motor for a boat. To make a steering column, a water pipe of a relatively small diameter is needed. It needs to be L-shaped. It should be noted that a hollow tube is needed here, since all the wires connecting the battery and the motor will pass through it. The received steering column is welded to a casing of the motor.

The propeller providing movement, also is connected with the motor (with its shaft, more precisely) by means of welding. In principle, at this stage the electric motor for the boat is considered assembled. It remains only to fix it on the boat.

This is done with a clamp made of metal. It is tightly screwed to the boat, and already to it the steering column and an emphasis is welded.

The electric motor for the boat, made by this method, is very convenient and durable. The only difficulty is the battery. If the boat is far from home, it will be very difficult to carry such a burden every time. However, it is quite possible to solve this problem - an electric motor for a boat can be made by another method, which excludes the motor from the mechanism.

For the manufacture of a motor that operates without a battery, the following details are required:

1. Generator with a capacity of about 2 horsepower.

2. Alkaline batteries (two NKN-45).

3. Electric motor.

4. Steel pipes.

5. Pilot propeller.

6. Bearings.

7. Metal rods and plates.

Of course, the design obtained from these parts will be significantly different from the model described above. An electric motor for a boat of this type can not move too fast, and the time that it can run at full power is not too great. But such an engine almost does not create noise and is completely safe for the environment.
