The proletariat-what is it? Politics and power. World proletariat

Only during crises the population gradually begins to orient themselves in what is actually happening. So life is arranged. Despite the constant efforts of journalists to cover the political situation in the country and in the world, the efforts of people belonging to different parties, the people are not eager to understand how social life is being formed. However, it is only necessary to roll yet another, unfortunately, wave of difficulties, as a class community emerges. People feel a common interest. This was especially so in the past for the proletariat. What is it? How did the concept develop and what did it turn into? Let's figure it out.

The concept of "proletariat"

Everyone knows what this is. Such terms as "revolution", "dictatorship" and so on have not yet vanished from minds and anecdotes. These concepts were not connected as they are with the economy or with shale gas. They belonged to a huge number of people, characterized by certain signs. People engaged in the production of material values, working in a certain place in large groups, were the proletariat. What did this mean in the past? It was a class that did not just create goods for society. He under the capitalist system was the main "tool" for obtaining wealth. In addition, people under the most natural circumstances were capable of self-organization. They just worked in close teams, knew each other well, communicated a lot. Yes, and usually lived in close quarters, which helped to "establish" close contacts.

Where did the notion of

After several revolutions, we got used to how powerful and proudly the word "proletariat" sounds. That this is not so, it turns out, if you dig into history. It turns out that the very concept originated in ancient Rome. As you know, the society there was multilayered. Slaves did not have the rights. And the patricians were the most powerful and powerful layer. Between these there was another "species" of the population. They were citizens, of all freedoms having only the right to vote. That is, they did not have any property, but they could express their opinion in the elections. Still they had the right to give birth to children - the same free citizens. They called their proletarius, which came to us in the form of the modern word "proletariat". However, the meaning, of course, was not the same. Proletarians called citizens who benefit the state only by having children. Agree, there is nothing proud in this interpretation. Rather, slips neglect.

The proletariat of Marx

Regardless of how unpresentable the term Romans was, the great theorist of the class struggle began to apply it. Only the meaning was invested quite different. In his understanding, not only politics and power depended on the actions of the proletariat, but also the existence of the state. Naturally, the class had flaws that needed to be overcome. Marx wrote many works in which he explained how to organize the masses so that they could participate in political life. He did not pass over the weapons of the proletariat either. Since the working class was the basis of production, according to the philosopher, he could regulate social processes precisely by influencing the very process. Strikes and strikes are the weapons of the proletariat. The people themselves do not lose that valuable thing that they have, since they do not appropriate the added value. And for the capitalists, the stop of production is a sharp knife.

Signs of the proletariat

Theorists, so that there was no doubt that this class has a special status, conducted its full analysis. Its main features were singled out. Not the exploiter. That is, that layer of society that creates a product with difficulty. The latter does not appropriate, which gives him the right to influence society. The proletariat is the most significant part of any state. His role in creating a material basis is so great that it is impossible to exclude or neutralize it. In addition, this class stands on the brink of progress. Self-improvement itself and helps the progress of society. It is clear that a person who is rightly called the leader of such a group, gets the opportunity to speak from the whole people, as he will express the opinion of his main strength. Such a person was called the "leader of the proletariat." For example: during the revolution and further they were VI. Lenin. Personality known to everyone.

World proletariat

Since the theorists of building a new society did not agree to half measures, they wanted to unite the working class everywhere. The notion of a world proletariat arose. These are people who have the attributes of a class, which are united not by the place of residence, but by the general idea. They were the basis of the world society, so they could dictate their conditions for establishing order. Do not assume that everything is in the past. The proletariat as a class exists today. It has somewhat changed. In addition, it ceased to be as closely knit as before, in times of upheaval. However, the concept itself has not disappeared. If in the time of the revolution the leader of the world proletariat called for the building of communism in every country, now it too can appear and engage in rallying the people. It is clear that the theory will encourage him to seek followers among people who meet the above characteristics.

The modern proletariat

Previously, the workers mostly worked with their hands. Times have changed. Now the proletariat means absolutely different people. The fact is that production has now passed into the phase of the development of mental labor. People who produce thoughts and technologies that develop industry do not appropriately add value, now they become proletariat. Who is it? Scientists and engineers, programmers and designers. Their work is currently the most promising, advanced. They create the most valuable in our society - technology, knowledge. It is not necessary to consider that such a change reduced the importance of the proletariat. Quite the contrary.

The strength of the current "intellectual working class"

To begin with, we live in a world where resources can end. Even such a word came up - "exhaustibility". That is, what the "extra product" is made of, can simply disappear, since most of the modern resources are not replenished, or the process is so slow that for humanity it is invisible. And it is growing! Bliss is required more and more at the current level of consumption. However, he does not like it either. It turns out that every year there are more and more people who want to live as best as possible. Agree, the problem is serious. In such conditions, the layer of society that can come up with how to rationally divide existing resources, create new ones, becomes archival. It is on these people that the whole world looks with hope. They will be able to prevent many of the catastrophes that mankind frightens: to get rid of hunger, disease, wars, and so on.

So, did the proletariat win?

Having come to the modern understanding of the working class, the society has faced such a strange question about why it needs capitalists. Exactly! Previously, they performed a certain useful role - they accumulated resources in order to organize their use. Now the meaning of such an action becomes more and more illusory. First of all you need to think out how to make them reproducible or go to other sources. It can only people who produce a mental product. And why should they capitalists? It is much more cost-effective for the whole process to be carried out by a state that has a social ideology. So the problems of society will be solved more fairly, not competitively. Whether time will tell whether this is true. And the modern proletariat has weapons that can not be selected: talent, education and skills!
