Electrical Safety Regulations

For the safety of the same people who use electricity and, accordingly, electrical appliances.

It is especially important to observe the rules of electrical safety in rural areas, since the probability of electric shock there is much higher, and the consequences of electric trauma are heavier. This is explained by the specific operating conditions of the devices, which are often switched on in the open air (sometimes at too high humidity), therefore, under the influence of external influences, the wear of the insulation is more intense. Contact with parts that are under tension can lead to very serious consequences. And especially dangerous when a person at the time of electric shock is on the ground. Irresponsibility and negligence often lead to electric shock, burns to splashes of melted metal, to fires, to death.

Basic rules of electrical safety in everyday life:

- never leave electrical appliances unattended;
- do not use electrical appliances under the shower (or in the bathroom);
- do not turn them on if you are in doubt;
- do not allow deviations from the use rules specified in the manuals for the instruments;
- do not start repairing electrical products connected to the network;
- some electrical appliances require special installation, trust this installation only to specialists;
- keep the wiring and the devices in good condition.

Household appliances today are mostly equipped with fuses and circuit breakers. Ignoring sometimes electric loading, they are automatically switched off. Do not become one with "homegrown craftsmen" who independently install fusible inserts ("bugs"). Wiring quickly overheats, insulation will begin to melt. This is a common source of ignition.

Ironically, electrical safety in everyday life is often ignored. And many people do not even think about it. What dangers lurk in such habitual electrical appliances that have become for us? Let's consider more in detail

Lighting devices (chandeliers, ceiling and wall lamps , sconces) are the causes of fires and injuries are rare. The main thing - do not turn on for a long time, and leave - turn off. In portable luminaires, the danger is greater: the broken insulation of the wires will become the cause of arcing and, possibly, a fire.

Radio-electronic devices (players, radio receivers, TV sets, amplifiers, computer equipment). It is very important to observe all the electrical safety rules specified in the rules of use. Do not allow objects from metal and liquid to get inside, do not install the equipment in furniture niches, disassemble electronic equipment, do not do self-repair. Savings can be too expensive.

Even when in specialized premises equipped with observance of all norms, do not forget about caution. As an example - the rules of electrical safety in a computer class:

- During operation, hands must be clean and dry;
- Do not go behind computers (work area);
- do not touch the connectors;
- do not touch the grounding devices and power wires;
- do not touch the screens and the back of the monitor;
- do not turn the equipment on or off without first informing the instructor.

Heating devices (electric kettles, heaters, irons). These devices, as a rule, have a high energy consumption, so the inclusion of several of them in one outlet (at once) is unacceptable: the probability of overheating of wires, violation of the integrity of their insulation and ignition is high. Power cords should not be very close to the heating devices and even more so lie on them. The most common cause of household fires is the unheated heating appliances.

Ventilation holes in electrical appliances are a zone of special attention. Do not place on the monitors, system units, televisions vases with flowers; Forbid children to throw something through the holes inside the body (pins, keys, clips, carnations, etc.); Do not block any ventilation openings (overheating is not permitted).

Explain to children the rules of electrical safety. Maximum limit possible unwanted contact of animals and children with current sources. Do not leave the plugs of the cords in the outlets, even if the devices are turned off.

Observing the simple rules of electrical safety, you leave intact and safe not only your property - you save your life. And not only his ...
