Drivers for the motherboard

After reinstalling the operating system, especially when Windows XP is installed and the computer is new, it will not be possible to find drivers for the latest hardware in the legacy OS. And even the latest release of Windows, with the third update package will not save the situation. Practice shows that the most difficulties for users arise when you need to install a driver for the motherboard. Complexities here are understandable, 99% of modern PCs are equipped with a built-in network card on chipsets, which were not yet available when WinXP was released. And it's good if you have a disk with a driver on the motherboard at hand, well, and if it's not there, then just go to the network.

Accordingly, a freshly installed operating system without network drivers can not be connected to the Internet, and the circle closes. To download the driver to the motherboard you need a network, to get into the network you need a network card card driver.

The best and simplest solution in such cases is to go with a flash drive to any computer that has a connection to the world wide web, and then download the necessary drivers. The only hitch that can wait for not very experienced users is the question: what drivers need to be downloaded for your computer? That is, first it is necessary to identify the motherboard, and then run after the "firewood" for her.

The easiest way (if you do not want to open the case) is to do this with the Everest program, which should be in the D: \ Install folder, on the USB flash drive or, in extreme cases, on the DVD drive of every self-respecting PC user. With its help to find out the model of the motherboard is simple, go to the "System board" section and there you see the text in the second line, something like the Asus P5K. If there is nothing in this line, look at the first line (the ID of the motherboard), it must exactly contain information, with which you can determine what is the fee in your computer. So, for example, the line - 64-1201-000001-00101111-101408, hammered into Google search, will give you the result - Asus P5K.

By the way, on the same page of Everest, only at the very bottom, you can find links on which you can easily download the driver to your computer's motherboard. True, occasionally, they lead to obsolete addresses, but there's nothing to be done.

If you are lucky, and the network card on your motherboard works fine after the reinstallation, but does not determine, for example, the sound, or other necessary devices, then the programs that are designed to install the missing drivers in the system will help you. For them, it's easy to find drivers for a motherboard, a graphics card, or some exotic BlueTooth adapter.

The first candidate for your attention is the Utility DriverPack Solution. It is very popular, because, firstly, it is free, and, secondly, it can install drivers in automatic mode. What does this mean for the user? This means that by running DriverPack Solution, you are just waiting for your computer to be scanned for problematic and obsolete drivers, and then you are asked to allow the program to download and install the missing drivers and the new ones instead of the expired ones.

The second most popular is the Driver Genius program. It is also free and has a rich arsenal of capabilities for working with drivers. For example, it can make backup copies of the set that is currently installed on the computer, which is important when reinstalling the OS is planned in advance, and you do not want to crawl along the dusty shelves in search of a disk from a particular device. Naturally, besides this, DG is able to determine the missing drivers in the system and install them, and it does it quite quickly.

The third in our mini-review is the utility Device Doctor. What is characteristic is also free. Its functionality is not much different from the similar capabilities of the first program, except that you can note a simple and very convenient, thoughtful interface.

Well, here we come to the end of this article, I wish you always have at hand all the necessary drivers for the motherboard. And if you do not want to get in trouble, copy all the installation disks of your computer to the HDR. Then in case of any failure, you will be fully armed.
