Drink "Sprite": with thirst for life!

As the classic used to say, who among us did not use the birch Sprite in the spring (or any other)? Although, of course, the birthplace of birch sap, despite the erroneous belief of the Vavilen curator, there did not smell: all his life the drink "Sprite" was associated with his fans and was positioned by the company itself, producing it like soda with lemon or lime. And its taste qualities were appreciated by representatives of the "generation Pi" in the USSR and the post-Soviet space only a little later than the classics of the same "Pepsi", familiar to many from the pioneer cloudless childhood.

The birth of a legend

The founding fathers gave birth to the idea for the name of the Sprite beverage long ago, in the 40s of the last century, during those sweet times when many other variants of "liquid candies" were not even heard of. In the pictures of advertising The Coca-Cola Company became very popular one elf with silvery hair, bearing the name Sprite. This character is constantly dazzling and broadly smiling, which is quite American, and instead of a headdress he put on his head plugs from an effervescent drink. Americans, from small to large, fell in love with such a hero, and later, when the company decided to still create a pop with a lemon, this drink was automatically given the name to all the familiar fairy-tale characters - Sprite. Drink, it should be noted, went to fame. And he came to a good position in sales.

1961 - year of birth

In October of this year, a "Sprite" drink was created. He, as already mentioned, possessed the taste of lime with lemon (the idea is simple: an analog and competitor of the no less famous 7Up from PepsiCo was released). The range of labels used mostly blue and green with silver shades. And for the first time the drink "Sprite" was able to taste the inhabitants of Atlanta and Marietta (USA). In seven days it was tried in eight places, and the soda was positioned as a soda with a lemon flavor. Drink "Sprite" was suggested to use the same as traditional soda.

1978 - continuation of the triumphal procession

This year Sprite takes the first places in the category of drinks with similar taste qualities, becomes independent and original. It perfectly quenches thirst. Especially for the purpose of making the new brand easily identifiable by potential buyers, large-capacity containers with bright, memorable labels have been developed. Ever since, the green bottle has become a symbol, embodied in a fresh and cool way. And this brand has already been promoted in 40 states. A significant role in the jump in the popularity of Sprite was played by the decorating base, because no one ever produced or sold them in such containers!

And what about us?

In Russia, the all-conquering Sprite with bright tastes of lemon and lime appeared in 1992, immediately after the collapse of the Union. Since that time, it immediately becomes one of the most popular thirst-quenching drinks. It truly was a brand that inspired many representatives of progressive youth to be the first in everything, whatever they did and felt.

The famous slogan

And already in 1994 was rebranded and invented a new logo. And also the most popular slogan is that "the image is nothing - everyone's thirst", firmly associated today with "Sprite". Now this highly carbonated beverage is distributed virtually all over the world and has gained popularity along with the main drink of Coca-Cola. For today a whole line of flavor varieties "Sprite" has been developed: citrus, cucumber, grapefruit, ginger, energy (with caffeine).

And specially for the vast market of Asia, Spritea is produced (with natural green tea). Today this drink is used as a basis in many recipes for cocktails - alcoholic and cooling. And the price of "Sprite" still remains democratic and accessible to the widest range of potential consumers and avid fans: 0.33 liters - 25-40, 0.5 liters - 50-60, 1 liter - 70-100 rubles.
