Who is Dan Hauser? And what does he have to do with Rockstar Games?

early years

Dan Hauser was born in 1974 in London. He and his older brother Sam dreamed of becoming rock stars. They wanted to play concerts and become famous all over the world, but unfortunately, dreams were not destined to come true as the brothers would have liked. At the age of 21, Dan got a job at BMG Interactive, where he was responsible for testing disks. However, quite quickly for the company's leadership, another talent for Dan, as well as his brother, whom he brought with him, was opened. It turns out that the young guys had a literary talent, and they coped well with the role of writers and even producers. As a result, by 1998, when Dan was 24 years old and Sam was 26, the brothers were already working on their first game - an arcade shooter with a top view, where the gamer needed to steal cars, drive around the big city without any restrictions, perform plot Task or just to arrange lawlessness in the streets. In 1999, the game was released GTA, which was the first step to the incredible success of the brothers Hauser. By that time, BMG Interactive was sold to another larger game developer, but Dan Hauser and his brother did not want to start over again under the new leadership - they moved to New York, where they quickly disconnected from the new company by organizing their own. The company was called Rockstar Games - as you could already understand, this is a reference to the dream of two brothers, which has not been realized - to become rock stars. But in the end they became stars of a completely different world.

Max Payne 3

Dan worked tirelessly, and in 2012, "Rockstar" released another game, in the creation of which Hauser played the most important roles. The company bought the rights to continue the legendary shooter "Max Payne" and released the third part, which was very different from the previous two and caused a wave of criticism. Given the fact that Dan was responsible for both writing the script and producing, many of the "bumps" he took over. But this did not stop him before further work.

Return of "GTA"

In 2013, everyone was waiting for a huge surprise - the company "Rockstar" released the fifth part of the legendary series "GTA". And the script for her was written by Dan Hauser. Unlike the "Max Payne", this game was taken exceptionally positively. But three years have passed since then, and new projects, in which Hauser would have participated directly, never come out. Part of this is due to the fact that for a long time the fifth part of the "GTA" series was being finalized - it was first released on consoles and only then separately on computers, then a multiplayer mode was added to it, and so on.
