Cucumber Pasalimo: description of the grade, photo, reviews

The leader of domestic vegetable gardens is the cucumber. The absence of this democratic product in beds and tables can not be imagined. Apparently, therefore, breeders do not leave work to create new varieties and hybrids. And these studies are very successful. Proof of this is our publication, which has already been evaluated by early gardener hybrids of the cucumber gherkin type Pasalimo. We learn about the peculiarities of this vegetable.

Pasalimo, cucumbers: a description of the variety

Positioned by the breeding-seed-producing Dutch company Syngenta Seeds BV, this cucumber is included in the state register of the Russian Federation in 2005 and has been cultivated for more than 12 years in countryside areas and in farms. The hybrid is allowed to cultivate in all regions of the country and equally grows successfully on open ridges and in hothouse conditions. The universality of the variety is explained by its properties of parthenocarpic, that is, it does not require classical pollination by bees.

Cucumber Pasalimo is a hybrid with a surprisingly short vegetation period, the frames of which are limited only to the 39th-41st day, but its fruiting continues to the coldest. A gherkin type of vegetable makes it possible to collect fruits of varying degrees of ripeness and size:

• pickles - 3-5 cm;

• Gherkin - 5-8 cm.

Culture of the female type, which does not have any void colors, is medium-sized, indeterminate, that is, with an unlimitedly growing central shoot. Light green pubescent leaves reach a medium size. A feature of the hybrid is the ability to form in one node up to 6-12 ovaries. Zelenians are one-dimensional, regular elongated, white, tuberculate, short (up to 8-9 cm), weighing up to 80-90 grams.

Cucumber Pasalimo is covered with a skin of bright emerald color with a little pronounced patchiness and indistinct light dashes. The hybrid has an excellent crisp flesh, devoid of unpleasant bitterness.

Productivity and resistance to diseases

The variety is remarkable for a very high percentage of output of high-quality commercial products, which is almost 96% for grown vegetables in the greenhouse and a slightly lower indicator for yields from open beds. From 1-square meter usually remove 13-15 kg of cucumbers. After harvesting, the fruits retain their commodity qualities long enough. Even not removed in time, the greens do not overgrow. Cucumber Pasalimo, whose photo is presented in the article, is universal. It is used fresh, magnificent in marinades, pickles, snacks, as the dense structure of the flesh of the hybrid prevents the formation of voids during heat treatment.

The advantage of the hybrid is also high resistance to such cucumber plagues as powdery mildew, cladosporium, cucumber mosaic virus, capable of destroying the lion's share of the crop.

So, the advantages of the variety are high taste properties, one-dimensionality of fruits, good yield, resistance to typical diseases, transportability and marketability.

Cucumber Pasalimo: features of planting

The highest hybrid yields on fertile, drained loamy soils. Like all cucumbers, Pasalimo (reviews of vegetable growers confirm) are not indifferent to the abundance of light and heat. Therefore, when choosing the sites for planting, they are guided precisely by these criteria. The best predecessors are solanaceous, onion, leguminous and cruciferous.

Cultivate the hybrid seedlings or seeds that are sown immediately into the greenhouse. The soil to the time of sowing should be heated to 15-18 ° C, because the cucumber is a plant that is thermophilic. Therefore, the period from May 15 to May 25 is considered to be the approximate time for the landing of Pasalimo in the middle and temperate latitudes, although it is necessary to navigate the weather that has been established in the region. The optimal daytime temperatures needed for a plant for qualitative development should not be lower than 22-24 ˚С, night temperatures should be 18 ˚С. On seedlings seeds of cucumbers Pasalimo sow in the end of April. If the climate in the region makes it possible to plant vegetables in the open ground, bypassing the seedling period, the work of the gardener is greatly facilitated.

Care of seedlings

A variety of cucumbers Pasalimo gives tall, but fragile shoots. Therefore, those who know vegetable growers recommend sowing them for seedling immediately into separate containers. This will significantly improve the condition of the seedlings, will not delay them in growth, strengthen the stem and in a short time will develop a strong root system.

Seedlings need good care, consisting in sufficient lighting and maintaining the air temperature at 20-25 ° C. Sprinkled sprouting seedlings very moderately, avoiding excessive moistening. It can cause bacterial infections. It is important to remember that the seedling period for the cucumber is quite limited and does not exceed 25-30 days. Overgrown seedlings become hard and long lasting.

Soil preparation

Experienced gardeners recommend planting cucumbers in high beds with a slight slope to the south, they heat up much more quickly in the sun and keep the heat well. Cucumbers require a soil with a low nitrogen content. Sour soils must be lime.

Prepare the place for planting from the fall. Under the digging, 10 kg of fresh manure or 60-70 g of phosphorus-potassium compounds per 1 sq. M. meter. In the spring, the site is again carefully loosened.

Preparation of the greenhouse and planting

Before planting in the greenhouse, it is necessary to take into account some peculiarities of closed cultivation, since without appropriate treatment it is difficult to avoid infection, despite the good immunity of the Pasalimo hybrid. In autumn, the soil and all parts of the greenhouse are sprayed from the atomizer with a solution of copper sulfate. In the spring, before planting, the soil is dug and 15-20 kg of humus or compost is applied per 1 sq. Km. The cucumber of Pasalimo is a grown-up culture, therefore, holes 12-15 cm deep are located in 0.4-0.5 m from each other. Varietal features of the hybrid due to the density of planting: 1 square. M plant 4-5 plants. The technology is simple: the wells are spilled with water, the containers with seedlings are also well moisturized and, taking out the seedling with a clod of earth, carefully place it in the hole. Then the soil around the seedling is compacted and re-watered.

Care of the culture

Pasalimo is referred to varieties with secondary formation of lateral shoots, which should be controlled to prevent the plant from growing green mass to the detriment of fruit formation. After the 6-8th leaf, the tip of the central stem is pricked, provoking branching. For fruiting leave 1-2 strong stems, other lateral axillary shoots are cut off. For cucumber plantings carefully monitored, keep them clean, periodically superficially and gently loosening and removing weeds. Poured exclusively with warm water, which is served under the root, avoiding the whole plant hydrating.

Greenhouse cultivation of cucumbers involves the use of vertical supports that allow increasing the number of plants and obtaining high yields of healthy fruits that do not come into contact with the soil. As supports often use garter-cords or equip special trellises, ie rack lattices with cells measuring 20-50 cm. Tie up the stems as the culture grows.

Cucumber dressing

Plants are fed 3-4 times per season. A week after planting the seedlings, the seedlings are fertilized with a solution of urea, potassium sulfate and superphosphate (15 g of each preparation per 10 liters of water). In the future, fertilizing is carried out every 2 weeks, giving plants 1-1.5 liters of manure (1 l / 10 l of water) or pereprrevshego green mass.

So, we listed the main agrotechnical methods of cultivation of cucumber Pasalimo - a promising and high-yielding crop.
