The exact number of operating systems is unknown. Perhaps, somewhere there even exist OS, on which only one or two people work in the world. Moreover, it can be a full-fledged system with an original BIOS, a new kernel and a completely different interface than the others. We all perfectly remember the joke about the Urals Denis Popov, who allegedly created his own operating system. Even if you do not see this OS, at least a puzzling appears. The 16-year-old teenager from Nizhny Tagil in just one year has created something that groups of experienced programmers have been building for years? This news aroused, if not the whole world, then its good half exactly. Of course, there was no question of a new operating system. The young man slightly adjusted the Ubuntu interface. But this pseudo-world went around the world. And then again, only with negative comments. What is the conclusion? The operating system is not changing the wallpaper on the desktop, not creating your own "solitaire kerchief," but a complete set of programs written from scratch. Of course, such a feat can accomplish units, and then after many years of training and experience.

One of such geniuses is Torvalds Linus. His invention is currently the most popular free operating system. One of its advantages is the ability to rebuild the kernel and each time to receive the product with some new features. Or, what happens most often, with their absence. But this does not mean that this is a new operating system. The Linux distribution distribution includes a huge number of programs that are used extremely rarely. Therefore, those who first encountered him, can note some problems in the work of the computer. This is especially true for obsolete computer models. There is an opinion that only experienced programmers can compile the kernel. In fact, this is far from the case. Almost any experienced user will easily understand this fascinating business. One of the distinguishing features of the Linux system is that there are practically no viruses for it. There are many jokes on this subject. "Urrrraaaa! I found a virus for Linux. Only it needs to be installed manually, definitely in a certain folder, then give it administrator rights, and even then it does not want to work ", - one of them.

The first operating system was invented in the sixties of last century. Of course, it was strikingly different from the existing ones. Often, many firms created OSes for several computers, for their personal needs. It is impossible to systematize all the programs of that time. And very few people will be interested. Various OSes were written, and now they are being written, in different languages. And this is natural, because they are all created for completely different purposes. For example, remember OS DOS. And try to compare it with Windows. The similarity, perhaps, is one, for work in them there are symbols from the keyboard.

Own creation of an operating system is the most complicated, but also the most fascinating task. And in order to solve it you need to be not only a great programmer, but also an artist, creator and simply assiduous person.
