Glue thermo gun is a tool that should be in the arsenal of each needlewoman. It can be used for a variety of purposes, so today there are a huge number of different glue guns, rods and supplements to them.

The adhesive thermo-gun can be used for decorating various surfaces, for creating floral compositions, and also for fixing something for a while.

What are the glue guns?

There are two main types of glue gun: for rods with a diameter of 7 mm and for rods with a diameter of 11 mm. In most cases, small versions operate on battery power, do not have wires, and therefore are very convenient for decorating something small. Pistols are also used for handicrafts, but more often they are not as convenient as 7 mm. The cost depends on the manufacturer, size, quality and power.

How to choose a good thermo gun for needlework?

When choosing this tool, you should pay attention to a few trifles.

1. Inspect the check valve. It should be dense enough that the melted glue does not flow out during operation and does not spoil the gun itself.
2. Pay attention to the "window" near the feeder. It should be wide enough so that if necessary, it would be easy to grasp the rod with your fingers and remove it from the gun.
3. Estimate the power with which the adhesive thermo gun works. Typically, the gun shows two indicators: output power and power consumption. So, for the decoration of a gun of low or medium power (for example 15 (40)), but for serious repairs, you need to purchase a more powerful option.
4. If you choose a gun for decorating handmade products, see if it is possible to use a variety of attachments, extensions and other elements that simplify the work and save time.

When is the adhesive thermo gun ready for use? Firstly, insert the rod into the cold tool and plug it into the socket. Then you need to wait about five minutes and pull the trigger so that the adhesive appears on the nozzle. The gun is ready! All that is required of you now is to press the trigger to feed the glue. If you work long, sometimes let the gun rest.

Adhesive rods for the thermo-gun are also different: transparent, white, black, multicolored. How do they differ and which of them do you need? Transparent rods are considered universal, and are suitable only for gluing. White, black and yellow are specialized, each of them is used for specific purposes. Rods "ecoflo" are used for decoration.

When one ends, you need to insert the next one and continue the work. If suddenly you need to change an unused rod to another, turn the adhesive thermo gun into a socket and let it warm up. Grab it with two fingers, scroll several times around its axis and pull it out of the gun.

Working with this tool, remember the high temperature of the glue, spout and the gun itself. Be very careful. Also do not forget that you can apply glue only on objects that will not be affected by hot impact, as already dried up glue can melt and swim.
